SBC Department of Music

SBC Department of Music The Music Program at Sweet Briar College provides comprehensive study in music as well as performance

The Department of Music provides both comprehensive study in music for the student who wishes to major in music in a liberal arts setting, and general courses for the student who wishes to study music to broaden her cultural understanding or as a performing art. Because music is a multi-faceted discipline, involving studies in history, theory and applied music, our curriculum is balanced to give o

ur students the very best preparation and to challenge all students to work to their maximum potential so that upon graduation they will be well-prepared musicians.
