MONDAY: Join us for a new new author talk series at The Bay! The series will kick off with an afternoon event on Monday, August 31 at 2pm with author and local true crime historian Tom Carr in conversation with interviewer Amy Monette. A journalist who spent 25 years in daily newspapers, Tom has written three books in his “Blood on the Mitten” series of Michigan true crime and dark history. Amy has at times supported Carr’s work through her role as a librarian, bringing archival context to his research and storytelling. Admission to this event is free; donations are welcome and benefit the nonprofit Bay Theatre. Come join us!

We’re thrilled about the upcoming kickoff of our fall Live at the Bay series starring Jon Langford and Sally Timms of legendary British group The Mekons. In conjunction with their September 18 concert at The Bay, Crooked Tree Arts Center will host an exhibition of Jon’s artwork called “Honky Tonk Heaven” at the downtown Traverse City gallery at 322 Sixth Street. The exhibit will run September 4 through October 3 and include an artist talk with Jon on September 19 at 11am. Jon is an amazing visual artist who - among other works - has created striking portraits and murals of music legends like Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, and John Prine. Don’t miss this exhibit at Crooked Tree, and be sure to get your tickets to see Jon and Sally live in concert at TheBayTheatre.org!

Accompanied by her husband, son and daughter, Adelaide Wilson returns to the beachfront home where she grew up as a child. Haunted by a traumatic experience from the past, Adelaide grows increasingly concerned that something bad is going to happen. Her worst fears soon become a reality when four masked strangers descend upon the house, forcing the Wilsons into a fight for survival. When the masks come off, the family is horrified to learn that each attacker takes the appearance of one of them. Tickets are just $7 and available at TheBayTheatre.org. See you there!
