Just to give a notice to our lap swimmers. This week we have our evening swim lesson session for kids and the pool will be a little crowded with, lap swim, aqua aerobics, and swim lessons sharing the pool at the same time.

Aqua Aerobic Classes are now going on at the Sutter Creek Pool! 5-6:30PM Monday-Friday. $55/month or $100/season.

The classes are designed to use the resistance of the water to build muscle and lose inches, the classes are also very low impact.

For those who are interested in being a Lifeguard this season. make sure you take the City of Jackson's American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Course.

The Return of the NYF Indoor Tri!
Are you interested in doing a triathlon? But you are not sure if you can make those long distances. New York Fitness will be putting on an indoor triathlon that will use a different format.

Instead of having a set distance to travel e.g. 3.1 miles for a run. You will go as far as you can in a set time limit for each leg of the race. What this means; You will start the race doing a 10 minute swim, followed by a 30 minute bike ride (on our S-2 Bikes), ending the race with a 20 minute run (on our designated treadmills). With brief transition periods in between each race leg. You will then be scored by the distance you travel in these times.

The event will be held on Saturday December 5th, and will be a time slotted event, with the first time slot beginning at 11:00 am and following time slots beginning every 35 minutes. Sign up early to get your ideal time slot.

The cost will be $30 to participate for non-members, or $25 for members, race day signups $30. Proceeds will go to funding Swim Scholarships for graduating seniors. Sign ups will be at New York Fitness. Sign up early to guarantee yourself a t-shirt!

Prizes will be given to top finishers in each age group. Must be 14 and above to participate.

To those who are interested, Jackson will be having their lifeguard courses the weekends of April 11-12 and 18-19. You must be at least 15 to sign up and you have to make all four days. Contact city of Jackson for more information.
