In a historic moment for the South Asian electronic scene, Bangladeshi-American producer and DJ Sanjoy (Sanjoy Deb) has been officially confirmed to perform at the 2026 FIFA World Cup opening festivities. FIFA announced on Friday that the Los Angeles-based artist will join a star-studded global lineup for the tournament’s unprecedented triple-opening ceremonies across North America.

Sanjoy is scheduled to appear during the Toronto celebrations on 12 June, sharing the stage with Canadian icons Michael Bublé and Alanis Morissette before Canada’s opening match. Restore Britain leader blasts Reform UK over Bangladeshi candidate in Portsmouth race
