The original s**g dance was said to have originated in Atlantic Beach. It became prevalent in the 1940's in Myrtle Beach and in 1984 was named the South Carolina State dance. With many competitions and two large

scale events in Myrtle Beach Sh***ing is still the deal for beach entertainment. A smooth shuffle step danced to the soothing sounds of beach music, beach goers have been dancing the s**g for generations. My name is Cale Turnage, and I am a native of Eastern, NC. I was raised listening to General Johnson, and Chairmen of the Board, The Embers, The Band of OZ, and the Coastline Band. Please join me in support of this wonderful east coast past time!!!
