Hula is not just dancing and chanting, but involves a deeper spiritual aspect which must be accrued by the student over a period of years. Hula is a religious ceremony to the Hawaiian gods and we honor and respect that part of our culture. Our philosophy of No ke aloha no ka hula means "for the love of the hula" and embodies the elements of respect, courtesy, discipline, patience, determination and perseverance. Take off your shoes and join us inside.

Hauʻoli Lā Mei! Hauʻoli Lā Lei!

Celebrate Lā Lei with us as we look back at the beautiful lei made by our kaikamahine at last years Iā ʻOe E Ka Lā! Our kaikamahine put their learnings of Lā Mei into practice by making and prepping their lau and pua, wearing their lei and kūpeʻe on stage, and making a lei for their mākua as a mahalo. Now it’s your turn to make a lei, wear a lei, and give a lei!

Pau me Iā ʻOe E Ka Lā 2025!

We are so proud of our haumāna that competed at the Iā ʻOe E Ka Lā Hula festival last weekend. From wāwae swings to “oo oo oos”, each ʻōlapa worked hard for months and represented our hālau beautifully, we couldn’t be any prouder. Our kupuna group walked away with 1st place and our kaikamahine soloist, Laela, placed 3rd!

A special mahalo goes to everyone who helped make this weekend a success. To our musicians, for their beautiful leo; to our lei makers, for helping our moʻolelo come alive; to our mākua and ʻohana, for sacrificing their time in making kūpeʻe, driving their dancer to practice, and so much more; to our kōkua, for doing hair, makeup, and steaming costumes, all so our dancers good look fabulous on stage; to our hoʻopaʻa, for sacrificing their weekends to help train our dancers; to our ʻōlapa, for their hard work and sacrifices to represent our hālau; and most importantly, to our Kumu Kanani, for her endless love, support, and dedication to hoʻomau our hula journeys. We mahalo and aloha all of you 🤍

It’s been a few years, but so glad to be back at Aloha Festival this year! Big mahalos to for having us again. Another big mahalo to all who came out to support! We loved getting to see all our current and past haumāna! A hui hou until next year!
