She has exhibited her artworks all over the world and has been teaching art for over a decade. Indian art forms are her passion and so is teaching!!

“Pragati Art School” is also an attempt to keep alive many almost extinct folk and tribal art forms from the Indian subcontinent that has a very uniquely rich art heritage. The forms are diverse, loaded with history and religion. Each region's art forms reflect the influence of different empires. The vast cultural and ethnic diversity has created a huge variety of motifs, techniques, and styles. The depiction ranges from Gods and Goddesses, mythological themes, scenes from royal palaces, daily lives of tribals, love scenes, hunting scenes, court scenes, episodes from epics, geometrical designs, traditional symbols, and much more…

We use a variety of mediums like - Acrylic, Oil, Watercolors, Glass paints, Enamels, Fabric colors, clay, Gold foil, semi-precious stones, paper mache on a range of surfaces like Canvas, handmade papers, fabric, glass, ceramic, wood, rocks, etc…

Besides occasional workshops (fixed duration longer, sessions) I teach regular ongoing weekly classes. Debosmita Das created this beautiful landscape inspired by early Gustav Klimt landscapes using stippling technique. Beautifully executed in acrylics, capturing Klimt’s distinctive mosaic-like, pointillist handling of color and texture, where small, repeated marks build a richly patterned, shimmering landscape. It was a joy to watch the repetitive mark-making become almost meditative for Deb and the happiness she found in the process is totally visible on her face.
