A lot of One Piece fans have been saying the same thing lately:
If everyone actually watched the series through official platforms, the 2026 anime awards might've looked a little different 👀🏴☠️
Whether you agree or not, it's hard to deny how strong One Piece was throughout 2025. Week after week, the anime delivered incredible animation, huge action scenes, emotional moments, and visuals that honestly felt closer to a movie than a weekly TV series at times.
But there's also a joke that never seems to go away in the fandom.
One Piece fans might be the most pirate-like fanbase on the internet 😭⚡
People joke all the time that One Piece has one of the biggest audiences in anime, but not everyone is watching through official services. Because of that, some fans wonder how different things would look if every viewer supported the series in a way that actually showed up in the numbers.
At this point, it's half serious discussion and half running meme. Fans constantly praise the work the animators and staff are putting in, while also laughing at the irony that a story about pirates has a fanbase famous for acting like pirates.
Jokes aside, one thing is pretty clear. One Piece had an incredible year in 2025, and a lot of fans feel its impact on anime went way beyond whatever happened at a single awards show ⚡🔥🏴☠️
