🔥 OCTOBER STORYLINES, STATS & RIVALRIES SO FAR 🔥

🌶️ The Iron Horses of October: Sugar & Spice is the only squad with perfect attendance across all three weeks, rolling deep with an average of 6 players per night (peaking at 7 players in Week 2!). After sitting in 3rd on the Challenge board after Week 1, they detonated a 16-point bonus bomb in Week 2 (15 CP from the "Orange You Glad" Attire Bonus + the Jack-o'-Lantern Slip) and followed it up this past Wednesday with their highest score of the month (92.0 points) to take 1st place on the night and sweep every single Week 3 bonus (Creature Feature Attire, "Monster Mash" DJ Request, and the Halftime "Trick or Treat" Wager)!

🧠 The Duo of Destiny vs. The Full-Squad Juggernaut: Don't let that 16-point gap fool you—Wrong Answers Only has been putting on a pure trivia clinic as a 2-person team! They own the highest Trivia Score Average of the month (89.5 pts) and still hold the single-game high score for October after dropping a massive 94.0 points in Week 1. Even after missing Week 2, they came back Wednesday with 85.0 points and 6 more Challenge Points to reclaim 2nd place overall.

🐟 The 0.3-Point Thriller & The One-Night Wonder: Remember Week 1 when Sugar & Spice (75.3) edged out Bumblebee Tuna (75.0) by a measly 0.3 points for 2nd place? Despite only playing in the October 7 opener, Bumblebee Tuna put on such a masterclass in Week 1 bonuses—stacking 15 Bonus CP in one night with full-team Lumberjack Attire (+11 CP) and remaining the only team all month to claim the Social Media Comfort Food Check-In (+3 CP)—that they are STILL holding onto 3rd place three weeks later!

🪵 New Blood Shakes Up the Podium: This past Wednesday, Big Sticks crashed the party for their October debut with 4 players and immediately wedged themselves right between our top two titans—dropping 89.0 points to sn**ch 2nd place on the night (+2 CP) and nailing the Halftime "Trick or Treat" Wager (+3 CP) to vault straight into 4th place overall!

📈 Biggest Week-Over-Week Glow-Up: Shoutout to The Tricksters, who jumped from 38.0 points in Week 1 to a table-topping 67.0 points in Week 2 (nearly doubling their score to lead the room on Oct 14!), while Team Zissou cashed in on the Week 2 "Orange You Glad" Attire Bonus (+3 CP) to tie them at 4 CP apiece, and Keepin' It Real and Bros Knows rounded out the October field!

Talk about a heavyweight shootout at Primal'Cue! Fourteen players across four squads went toe-to-toe in Sun Prairie on Wednesday night, trading leads all evening before a high-stakes Final Question where the top three teams all cashed in max 20-point wagers to finish within 7 points of the crown!

Here is how the night played out on the scoresheet:

First Half: Wrong Answers Only Jumps Out Front
Competing as a razor-sharp 2-player duo, Wrong Answers Only came out firing with 16 points in Round 1 and 18 points in Round 2 to take the early lead at 42 points. They were the only team in the building to identify Adam Scott as brother Derek in Step Brothers (Q4)! Meanwhile, Big Sticks (4 players) posted the top Halftime score of the night—going 5-for-6 (10 points) on Police Procedural TV titles to edge into 2nd place at 37 points, just one point ahead of Sugar and Spice (36 points). Bros Knows (2 players) joined the action late in Round 1—arriving just in time for Question 4 and snagging the Talladega Nights bonus point—before bouncing right back with a 16-point Round 2!

Second Half: A Three-Point Logjam & Sugar and Spice's Charge
Round 3 turned the leaderboard into a pressure cooker. Every team in the house cashed in on the wipremiertrivia.com free answer (Eva B), while Wrong Answers Only pulled off the lone solo get on the Octopus species question. Sugar and Spice and Big Sticks each dropped 18 points in Round 3 (nailing Flint, Michigan, Murphy Brown, and the 3-point Betty Ford Clinic bonus), leaving the top three separated by just 3 points heading into Round 4:

▢ Sugar and Spice – 54 pts

In Round 4, Sugar and Spice made their championship move. Matching their 18-point Round 3 with another room-best 18 points in Round 4—hitting 8 points on Cary Elwes, 4 on Cataract, and 6 on Burger King's Tokyo Teriyaki Tower Burger—they vaulted into a slim 3-point lead (72) over Big Sticks (69) and Wrong Answers Only (65) heading to the final question!

The Final Question: "The Roaring Lion" Delivers
With the podium packed at 72, 69, and 65 points, nobody at the top could afford to hold back on Photographs, asking for the subject of Yousuf Karsh’s iconic 1941 portrait "The Roaring Lion". All three leaders shoved the maximum 20 points into the middle, and all three locked in Winston Churchill! Sugar and Spice held off the charge to claim 1st place with 92 points, Big Sticks finished right behind them in 2nd with 89 points, and Wrong Answers Only capped a massive 2-player performance in 3rd with 85 points!

Whether you are hunting Bigfoot or channeling your favorite classic slasher, three Bonus Challenge Point (CP) opportunities are on the table this week to boost your spot on the monthly leaderboard:

Creature Feature / Horror Attire (+2 CP)
Break out your horror movie tees, ghost and skeleton gear, or cryptid apparel (Bigfoot, Mothman, Loveland Frogman, etc.). Any team with qualifying monster or cryptid gear earns +2 CP at check-in.

"Monster Mash" DJ Request (+3 CP)

What a wild Wednesday night of Premier Trivia at Primal 'Cue! Thirteen players across three teams battled it out in a contest decided by tactical wagers, a dominant 2-player second-half heater, and a massive 20-point leap on the final question.

Here is how the action broke down on the scoresheet:

First Half: Sugar & Spice Sets the Bar
Sugar & Spice came in loaded with a 7-player powerhouse table and took control early, putting up 35 points through the first half. They capped it off with a flawless 6-for-6 sweep (12 points) on the Halftime fighting games category, rattling off titles like Mortal Kombat, Killer Instinct, and Samurai Shodown without missing a beat. The Tricksters kept within striking distance at 27 points, while the 2-person squad of Team Zissou rounded out the half at 19.

Second Half: Team Zissou’s Two-Player Tear
Round 4 belonged entirely to Team Zissou. Operating as a lean 2-player dynamic duo, they caught absolute fire and swept all four questions plus the bonus in Round 4—cashing in on the Pony Express, Tennessee River, Hank Aaron, Keanu Reeves, and the Army of Darkness quote for 24 points in the round. That fueled a 36-point second half that catapulted them from third place straight into striking distance with 55 points, right behind Sugar & Spice (60 points) and ahead of The Tricksters (47 points).

The Final Question: High Stakes & Big Swings
The night wrapped up on Saving From Extinction, testing teams on the de-extinction genetic match for New Zealand's giant Moa.

▢ The Tricksters (47 pts) pushed all their chips to the middle with a bold 20-point max wager, locked in the Emu, and vaulted directly into 1st place with 67 points.
▢ Sugar & Spice (60 pts) played strategic defense with a 0-point wager, successfully protecting their score to lock down 2nd place at 60.
