Join us TODAY at 3pm for the Isaiah J. Thompson Trio at Beacon Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Summit, NJ!🎶

is a jazz pianist and composer from West Orange, New Jersey who studied early at and NJPAC Jazz for Teens before earning both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from The Juilliard School and later studying Christian Studies at Fuller Theological Seminary. He joined the John Pizzarelli Trio in 2019 and has performed with prominent artists including Christian McBride, Steve Turre, Catherine Russell, and Buster Williams. Thompson made his recording debut on Handful of Keys with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra led by Wynton Marsalis and has since released several projects as a bandleader. He also contributed to the Golden Globe–nominated soundtrack for the film Motherless Brooklyn, was named a Steinway & Sons Artist, won the American Pianists Awards and the Cole Porter Fellowship in Jazz in 2023, and joined the Juilliard Jazz Studies faculty in 2024, using his music to express faith, love, and respect.
