The Discovery Orchestra We teach listening skills that help you REALLY connect with classical music.

The Discovery Orchestra teaches listening skills that help people emotionally connect with classical music. In today’s fast-paced world, we believe in the power of listening to help people reconnect with each other - and themselves. And we know that listening to classical, as well as other styles of music, touches a deep emotional chord and creates a meaningful experience like no other. For 17 years we’ve helped students, teachers and concert-goers discover “Aha!” classical music moments through guided live concerts, TV Shows, online tutorial videos, and more recently a radio program and podcast series with our Maestro George Marriner Maull. From experienced classical fans to the “classical-curious,” all audiences can find new ways to listen, feel and connect with us at https://discoveryorchestra.org/.

🎶 A forgotten melody. A beautiful discovery. A piece of musical history brought back to life. 💙

Did you know George Gershwin wrote a lullaby that was later rediscovered by his brother, Ira?

✨ Listen to the Madison String Quartet perform this little-known Gershwin treasure at Worlds Apart: A Musical Birthday Connection, our special LIVE Inside Music event with Maestro George Marriner Maull and WWFM—The Classical Network.

Sometimes, the most beautiful musical discoveries are the ones hiding in plain sight. 🎻

🌙🎹 You know Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata… but do you know THIS? 🤔

The opening of Movement I is one of the most famous passages in all of classical music. But what about Movement II? 🎼

It’s the least known movement of the Moonlight Sonata—and Maestro Maull thinks it deserves a whole lot more attention! 👀✨

Tune in to Inside Music this Saturday, September 12 at 7:30 PM ET on WWFM.org as Maestro Maull makes the case for why this often-overlooked movement is so important to the Moonlight Sonata. 🎧🎶
