Day 9 of getting ready for grand opening at The Curiosity Shoppe! 🐾✨

We officially hung our main banner outside, and the storefront is really coming together! Inside, we’ve been busy crafting unique goods—check out these handmade crochet cat patch trucker hats featuring all kinds of colorful kitties. 🧢🐱

Day 8: Painting late into the night (and catching up on posts today!) 😴🎨

If you didn’t stay up past your bedtime covered in paint, did you even renovate a shop? Yesterday was a marathon session, and full transparency: the sales counter and I had a bit of a late-night battle... and I think the counter won round one! 😅

That said, we are so close to the finish line on these major projects:
🖌️ ALMOST FINISHED! Look at this detail! I spent hours hand-painting the logo onto the front panel of the counter. Seeing The Curiosity Shoppe name and storybook logo come to life on that pink-and-swirl backdrop makes every single minute (and sore muscle) worth it. Just a few tiny touch-ups left!

🧹 Floor Redo Part 3: Meanwhile, Brian is rolling out the base coat and sealing things up on the floor. Turning this old wood into our new speckled finish takes serious patience, but the transformation in the room light is wild.

Adrenaline and pure excitement are doing all the heavy lifting today, especially after seeing our logo sitting right there on the front counter! It’s making the whole shop feel so real. Thank you all for following along and cheering us through the late nights! 💖

🎉 ONE WEEK IN! Renovation update: Day 7 🎉

We can’t believe we’ve been at this for a full week already! The sweat, the paint splatters, and the sore arms are starting to show real results, and we are loving seeing our vision come to life. Today was a huge day for progress and finishing touches!

Check out what the crew tackled today:
✍️ The Art of the Counter: ⁠We officially moved from painting to detailing the new pink service counter! I’m absolutely in love with how these intricate black outlines are turning out—it adds such a fun, whimsical vibe to the front. ⁠

💡 Moody & Modern Ceiling: ⁠Brian is high up on the ladder again, conquering the dark paint on the remaining ceiling panels in the back corner. The new color looks amazing against the bright blue walls!

🏗️ Bathroom Transformation: ⁠No space left behind! We’re making great progress painting out this small bathroom.

🖌️ We are also working on more of our floor painting. I just forgot to take pictures. 🤦‍♀️

We still have a long way to go, but we are celebrating every win! Thank you all so much for following our journey, giving us encouragement, and letting us share this wild ride with you. Here’s to Week 2! 🥳 Chaos Forge

Day 6: Reaching new heights and adding bright pops of color! 🚀💖

The transformation is starting to get real! We’ve had a busy, productive day hitting major milestones. Here’s the latest update from the site:

🎉 Major Ceiling Success: Huge shout-out to Brian for finishing up the ceiling paint in the front of the store! Getting that dark, clean look above really makes the walls pop. (Check out that crisp line!)

🖌️ Countertop Color: We officially started working on the sales counter today! We are obsessed with this vibrant pink. The first coat is down and it's already looking amazing.

✨ Sprinkle some magic (and speckles): We continued the epic floor redo! Progress involves a lot of patience—like meticulously adding these speckles to make the new painted finish truly unique.

Every day we’re getting closer to our vision, and we’re loving the process (mostly!). Thanks for cheering us on!

Day 5: The floor transformation begins! 🖌️🧹
We’re keeping the momentum going for Day 5! Today was all about detail work and getting that first coat of paint onto the wood.

Here’s what our crew tackled today:
🎨 Cutting in the edges: Carefully hand-painting all the borders along the walls and trim before breaking out the roller to cover the main floor.

🧽 Scrubbing & prepping: Putting in serious elbow grease to wash down every inch of the floorboards so the paint adheres perfectly.

🧹Prep teamwork: Sweeping and deep-cleaning side-by-side to make sure not a speck of dust or debris got trapped under the new paint.

It’s amazing what a little paint (and a lot of prep work) can do to completely change the vibe of a room. Thanks for following along as we build out this space! ✨

Day 4: It takes a village! 🛠️🎨

Renovation progress is moving full steam ahead, and we couldn’t do it without our incredible crew.

Here’s a peak at what went down today:
High-reaching teamwork: Cutting in edges along the ceiling and getting fresh paint up on the walls and ceiling. (When you have one heavy duty ladder and two different areas to reach… you get creative 😜)

Scrubbing squad: Getting down to business giving these hardwood floors some serious TLC to bring back their charm.

Detail work: Sorting, prepping, and organizing behind the scenes so everything comes together seamlessly.

Every coat of paint and every scrubbed floorboard brings us one step closer to opening day. Thank you to everyone lending a hand and putting love into every corner of this space! 💙✨Chaos Forge

Day 3 of shop prep and it’s a whole family affair! 🎨✨

From painting high walls and touch-ups on a ladder to wiping down trim and silly dance breaks, we are slowly transforming this space into something special. Huge shoutout to the crew making it all happen! Chaos Forge

Every big journey starts with a broom, a paint roller, and a great team! 🧼🎨

Today was Day 1 inside our new home for The Curiosity Shoppe, and we hit the ground running! Between cleaning every corner, prepping the walls, and laying down the first splash of color, the space is already starting to feel alive.

We’re crafting a cozy, vibrant, and welcoming space just for you, and we can’t wait to open our doors this October!
