Lockhart ISD just started back to school this week, and there's no better welcome back than a brand new playground.

Earlier this week, we stood alongside Lockhart community members to celebrate the opening of one of the biggest one-unit playground designs we've ever built.

The Mega Den holds over 450 kids at once, packed with 80 different ways to play, so every kid, of every ability, finds a place to play. Inclusive swings, accessible ramps, and play built for connection, not just recreation.

We're endlessly thankful Lockhart ISD trusted us with a project this big, and this important, and grateful to Mike Giehl from fun abounds for seeing this project through from start to finish.

The Mega Den, and other playgrounds across the district, will be open to the public after school hours. And this is just one of multiple playgrounds opening across Lockhart ISD, so keep an eye out, there's more to come.

Day 1 of TNLA and we're already having way too much fun at Booth #5. 🛝

While Jordan was giving the Burke Movmnt Centro a spin, and a kid nearby saw the fun happening and just... joined in. Exactly how it works on a real playground.

Meet Simba, our unofficial office cat and self-appointed Director of Naps. He didn't apply, he didn't interview, he just followed the sign that says fun and figured that was the place to be.

We spend our days building the spaces where communities gather, play, and make memories, and it turns out even the office cat can find his way to it. 🛝

fun abounds is headed to San Antonio for TNLA Expo 2026, August 11 through 13 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center.

Find the FAB Team at Booth 5. We'll have games, prizes, and giveaways, outdoor musical instruments to play with, and if you've ever been curious about what playground design actually looks like from start to finish, we'll be designing live at the booth so you can see the process in real time.

Creating playground memories filled with fun and giving communities across Southern Texas outdoor spaces worth showing up for is what we do, and San Antonio, we are bringing all of that and more to Booth 5. Hope to see you there!

The best parks bring people together. Freedom Tree Park does that while honoring an important piece of The City of Missouri City, Texas - City Government's history.

It was an honor to be part of the Freedom Tree Park ribbon cutting, a space that commemorates the community's history while creating a beautiful place for future generations to enjoy.

With thoughtfully designed features, inviting green spaces, and a playground where children can laugh and explore. Congratulations to everyone who helped bring this meaningful project to life.

What a great day for the Fonde community!

Congratulations to the Houston Parks - HPARD and the Fonde Civic Club on the ribbon cutting of the new Fonde Playground. Seeing families, community members, and local leaders come together to celebrate this space was a wonderful reminder of how much parks mean to the neighborhoods they serve.

A special shoutout to Karina Blest, President of the Fonde Civic Club, whose leadership and advocacy helped bring this project across the finish line. The passion and dedication of the Fonde Civic Club and Friends of Fonde Park have helped ensure that Fonde Park will continue to be a place where kids can play, neighbors can connect, and memories can be made for years to come.

It was also exciting to see city council members and representatives in attendance, recognizing the impact that quality parks and playgrounds have on our communities. Their support, alongside HPARD's ongoing commitment to Houston's green spaces, made this celebration even more meaningful.

At fun abounds, we're proud to have played a small part in the project. A special thank you to Oz Estrada for working alongside the team to help bring the vision to life.

Here's to full playgrounds, new friendships, and a whole lot of laughter at Fonde Park. We can't wait to see this space enjoyed by the community for many years to come!

Challenger Seven Memorial Park just made Mommy Poppins' list of the best shaded parks in Houston, and we are proud to have played a part in that.

The space-themed playground at this Clear Lake/Webster park has it all. A rocket structure, a planet-shaped climber, slides, and enough room for creativity to launch, with shade built for Texas summers.

This is what community spaces are meant to be. Come back to often, stay longer than planned, and leave already looking forward to next time.
