The neighbors say since last fall, every time it rains, a little more of their land is being washed away by excess stormwater runoff from Dominion Energy’s Belcher Solar Project.

Ask about our Goldfish Giveaway - Thousands of Goldfish Must Go before the Bulldozers bury them forever. Remember the Town Board Members felt an environmental SEQRA review was not needed for this property in that it did not contain a substantial amount of wildlife. They were wrong again. 18 holes of mini golf in a wildlife sanctuary, doesnt get any better than that for the kids. Hope to see you this weekend!

MINI GOLF IN RIVERHEAD WILL BE OVER SOON BECAUSE RIVERHEAD TOWN BOARD MEMBERS THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A GREAT IDEA TO ALLOW A SOLAR COMPANY PERMISSION TO BULLDOZE IT DOWN AND REPLACE IT WITH HAZARDOUS TOXIC CHEMICALLY FILLED SOLAR PANELS ABOVE OUR WATER SUPPLY. Sorry for the long headline but necessary since the other media is not covering it properly. Long Island Sports Park will be bulldozed just after 09/22/21 - They will be spiking the job by knocking down a beautiful fully functioning Catering Hall with a clean and working commercial kitchen first thing so even if by some miracle someone puts a stop to this insanity in the near future, with the catering hall gone it makes the property just a piece of land with less suitors interested in its potential uses. Why did the Town Board Members allow this permit and what did they receive by approving the permits on a property that should never have been considered an ideal property to place solar panels on for the next 30 - 100 years. The Town did not own this property, it was privately owned and leased to the Long Island Sports Park, the town should have been protecting our air and water from potential hazards by not allowing the Green New Disaster to take root on such beautiful and important lands. Big Solar sold themselves to the public by promising to only use brownfields, landfills, and non usable lands which would not pose any potential threat to our water supply. Problem with that logic, the town cant make any money with those properties (There is no Kickback potential) The redistribution of taxpayers monies is now a priority in order for these local governments to claim they balanced their depleted budgets caused by their lame policies resulting in wasteful overspending and bad ideas. As they celebrate their new balanced budgets - remember ONE THING - they just raised your taxes tremendously across the country and across the state of NY, you, your kids, your grankids, and their kids will be paying for every budget that receives money from these solar companies in exchange for permission to purchase with our money these prime lands with no regard to the potential risks to the community if a natural or man-caused disaster or very simply long island salt air and water corrosion occurs over time. Local Government is supposed to protect us from those with big money and power that want to impose their will on us claiming it is for the good of all when it is clearly not.

It is official, Your Town Board Members and Planning Boards of Riverhead decided to allow a solar company to purchase the viable property (Cousins Paintball and the Long Island Sports Park which was leasing with the intention of eventually buying) to purchase and build a 198 acre solar farm or the new term "Solar Power Station" on lands that our government promised us would never happen. These Solar Companies were only supposed to be permitted to purchase and place their solar panels on brownfields, landfills, and non-usable lands nowhere near a community water supply or farmfields that were responsible for feeding the community. We the Taxpayers who are paying for these properties through grants and federal and state subsidies (our tax monies) were promised that these would not be high valued properties, that the lands sought by the solar companies were basically un-usable vacant lands that were not generating any tax revenue for the community, we agreed to this so long as our water supply could never be impacted by a disaster that could release their hazardous toxic chemicals into our water supply contaminating it forever. But your town board members decided during covid lockdown to permit a valuable, productive, tax revenue generating, and popular property frequented by nearly 100,000 people a year and employed nearly 100 young adults a year, provided tens of thousands of dollars to the local businesses for food, lodging, event permits, and other operating supplies to be sold at nearly 3-4x market value which we are paying for. Your Town Boards were not interested in your concerns or your input, all they wanted was our 33 million tax dollars over the next 30 years and the acceptance of the Green New Disaster sent our way from Albany NY which makes us fossil free by 2030 in their delusional world of economics. We will be paying, your kids will be paying, and their kids will be paying for this idiocy. Now we have to pray that every natural disaster skip by us so as not to destroy the solar panels so their chemicals cant contaminate our water supply and our soil based crops in the farmfields. They should be ashamed of themselves but they are not, they are celebrating because they have tax monies granted to the solar companies by our federal and state govt. now pouring in to balance their poorly run budgets and to spend on pet projects along with the pathbook for the master plan. Sacrificing 600 - 1000 acres of valuable lands in Calverton for chump change in the overall scheme of things including a potential water and crop catastrophe for all of us who drink the water and eat the local crops. Another Outdoor Recreational Park and Mini Golf Course bulldozed in Riverhead. Sept 15th 2021 is set to be the last day of Mini Golf in RIverhead. Be sure to Thank your Town Board Members for their unpopular decision to allow this. They will say they had no choice but they did have a choice, they were weak and greedy at the same time. They never should have allowed their application for permits to be approved. They could have accepted their application but did not have to approve the use on an environmentally rich with wildlife, rich with human activity, and a potential hazard to our water supply. This could have been prevented so dont let them conviince you otherwise. Should have allowed a Judge to decide on merits and duty to protect your community from a potential hazard.
