Our Story

Get Down! started in 2010, we had made a name for ourselves by throwing house parties. With a few kegs ,a DJ, and banner spray painted “Get Down!” we had the attention of locals and the party was on its way. Halloween weekend, 2010 we rented our first “venue”. A Masonic Temple in Smithtown directly across one of Long Islands oldest graveyards,. The party was called A Nightmare on Main Street we decorated the venue and on a leap of faith and hoped for the best. Over 400 people showed up from all across New York. We were overwhelmed but despite a brief power outage and the police shutting the party down at 1am, the party was deemed a huge success and Get Down! was about to hit Long Island like Mike Tyson knockout. Creating a whole new culture on Long Island came a slew of new DJ’s and a new way to think about partying. Keeping it fresh and and always exciting Get Down! has taken over all different types of places and establishments. The Sports Arena, Lazer Kingdom, FunZone, NYZ Apocalypse, Monster Mini Golf, The Emporium, and your occasional “warehouse” here and there. Over the years we have featured talent from all across the world. Getter, Dirty Phonics, Figure, Barely Alive, LNY TNZ, Dirtcaps, and even growing up with Yookie during their earliest of days. When you go to a Get Down! event there will always be a lot going on. Aside from top quality music we stimulate your mind and soul with art and performances including Lyra, aerial silk, fire spinning, go-go dancing, hooping and more. While we will leave nothing off the table in our future endeavors, the foundation of Get Down! Is by Long Island for Long Island and for that we thank you!
