🌟 Staff Spotlight Sunday 🌟

This week, we're highlighting Paul Briney, our Youth & Sports Executive at the Sturgeon Bay Program Center! We asked him a few questions so you can get to know the people who help make our Y such a special place.

What is your role at the YMCA and what do you do?
Association Youth Executive at the Door County YMCA. I oversee all youth programs/events and the Directors who work hard to put them on. I also frequently coach youth sports after school and on Saturday's.

What professional background or training supports your current work?
Master's degree in Recreation Management from Western Illinois University. I've worked for a couple of different Y's at this point, as well as a couple of different park districts putting on recreational programs. Also a former high school baseball coach.

What excites you most about your work here?
Providing opportunities for youth in our community. I enjoy seeing the growth that the kids display in our programs and the life skills they gain from the opportunities provided here.

A little about you: hobbies, interests, or fun fact?
I enjoy following the Chicago Cubs as well as fishing. I spend a lot of time on the water as well as on the ice throughout the year.
