We see a future where TAP is a center for cultural production and community connection, where everyone, no matter their background (cultural, ethnic, socio-economic status, gender expression, etc.) is welcome and affirmed. TAP strives to be recognized among the leading arts organizations in the Upper Midwest. We are a home for Wisconsin artists, audiences, and for everyone who visits us. Welcome to the Steve and Jackie Kane Theatre, where the stage is consistently animated with performances throughout the year. Our commitment to providing a diverse array of shows ensures there’s something for every taste. Beyond our regular programming, the Kane Theater serves as a focal point for community gatherings and events. Whether attending a performance or participating in a community function, visitors can expect an atmosphere of cultural enrichment and engagement. Join us as we celebrate the enduring tradition of live theater and the communal spirit it fosters at the Kane Theatre. Great theatre inspires collaboration and fosters relationships with the larger community. TAP partners with a variety of non-profit service organizations in our community to raise awareness and funds to support their work in service of Door County. At each Pay-What-You-Will performance, offered on the Wednesday prior to opening night, a portion of the proceeds received will be given to the community partner(s). Additional talkbacks with the organizations provide a unique opportunity to learn more about the intriguing and sometimes provocative themes explored in our productions and how it relates to the mission of each non-profit partner. The generosity of our donors and sponsors makes our uplifting, provocative, and intimate theatre experience the very best it can be. As a nonprofit organization, TAP sustains operations primarily by contributions. When you make a gift to TAP, your support makes it possible for us to bring an exceptional theatre experience to Door County audiences all year long. Land Acknowledgement Statement
We acknowledge that the land on which we gather today is the traditional homeland of the Menominee Nation. We pay our respects to the Elders, past and present, and to all of our Native relatives who have cared for this land for generations. They have a rich culture and history, and their relationship with the land is central to their identity. We acknowledge the Menominee people as the original inhabitants of this land and we respect their sovereignty. We also acknowledge the many other Indigenous peoples who have lived in this area over time. We are grateful to be able to live and work on this land and we commit to learning about and respecting the history and culture of the Indigenous peoples who have called it home for centuries. Did you know that the process of deconstructing the set for a show is called strike? While that thought may seem intimidating, there is actually a job for everybody in this process! Yes, power tools are used to take apart pieces of the set, but there are lots of other tasks like rolling electrical cords, putting away props and costumes, and basic everyday cleaning. Volunteers also have the opportunity to see a show for free!

Learn more and sign up for 'Red Herring' Strike on August 9th starting at 4pm:

"This madcap comedy takes place during the McCarthy era and during a time of Cold War tension and everybody trying to steal each other's secrets. I think it's important from a storytelling perspective that we don't forget about those periods of our history." - Noah Simon about playing a fisherman turned KGB spy in 'Red Herring.'
