We are hoping you all are being safe and getting through this time. It's times like this where a little hope goes a long way, and I was happy to see Ann Patchett's Essay in the NYTimes explain "I felt as if I had just stepped through a magic portal, and all I had to do to pass through was believe that I wasn’t too big to fit." Stories can do some powerful things.

The novelist Ann Patchett doesn’t have children and didn’t read middle-grade books. Then she picked up one by Kate DiCamillo and couldn’t stop until she’d read them all.
