DKL's Glass Palette

09/26/2026

Update on the fluid art piece that resembled water bubbling. I'm playing with combining paint & glass in larger mixed media pieces. Below is the completed piece (maybe I'll add some fish later :)). This piece was experimental, with many lessons learned. All notes for future pieces.

Spent the last month experimenting with fluid art to add to my mixed media skill set. Because our house has tall ceiling and lots of wall space, I need bigger pieces that are not realistic to do in my kiln. Below I was striving for a coral reef/underwater look for the background. My thoughts are to add some glass coral possibly 3d and maybe resin the background. Still undecided.

Ready for the kiln . . . 4 small lantern panels.

Two of the four Christmas plates done. Just need to do the painting on the other two. Think I'll try "bronze" this time.

Added a few more things to the website. This photography and website creation is tough! Working with the glass much more fun!

I've now published the 1st limited version of the website. Will gradually be filling in more details. Click the tab on the left of this page to reach the site. Or here is the link -
