Pocono Highland Dance Academy

Pocono Highland Dance Academy The Pocono Highland Dancers is a group of dancers that promote Scottish culture through dance. L. MacKenzie in Nova Scotia.

The Pocono Highland Dance Academy was founded in 1975 by Lynne Erbrick (Bustos). Lynne was born in Philadelphia, PA and began her dancing career at the age of five. She studied Highland Dancing at the Marguerite Reid School of Highland Dancing and Ballet at the Philadelphia Dance Academy. Lynne won the Gaelic College Scholarship and spent two summers studying with J. Lynne also spent three months

in Scotland where she studied with Elspeth Strathern. While in Scotland, she became the first American dancer to win the Junior World Championship at the Cowal Games. Lynne is a fellow, life member and examiner for the British Association of Teachers of Dancing. She is an adjudicator for the Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing. She is still the only American winner of a World Championship to also be a judge. Associate teachers in the school are Julie Mignosi and Mary Kate Dunstane. Both are certified through the British Association of Teachers of Dancing. Students of the Pocono Highland Dance Academy have been representatives for the Eastern and Southeast Regions to the US Inter-regional Championships. They have also qualified and placed at Cowal Highland Games.

That's a wrap for Dallas 2026!

Congratulations to Rainn and Katherine for great placings the in Pre-Premier Highland competition and to Emma for great placings in the Pre-Championship!

Caroline and Willow finished out the weekend with some great dancing at the North American Championship.

Day 3 of USIR in Dallas!

All of our reps left it all on the stage and danced their hearts out. ๐Ÿ’œ We are so proud of Audrey for finishing 4th RU in the 16 and U18 group. ๐Ÿ’š

Day 2 in Dallas is in the books!

Well done to Emma and Caroline for some great dancing and personal bests!

Congratulations to Cailin and Willow for strong dancing and placements in super-talented groups!

And we can't forget our little ones, Katherine and Rainn, for their great placings in their novice and beginner age groups!

The dancers had lots of fun at the East Region dinner and are pumped to compete tomorrow. Good luck to all the dancers competing at USIR tomorrow!

We had a great first day in Dallas at the SDUSA National Championships!

Congratulations to Cailin for placing 5th in the 18 and U21 solo choreography competition! โค๏ธ

Our premier dancers earned 6th place in the group choreography competition with Menzies in Motion! ๐Ÿฉท

The highlight of the day was Autumn and Cailin being recognized at the banquet for receiving the ScotDance USA Academic Scholarships!

Looking forward to another great day tomorrow!
