From Switzerland to Sandy Hook Speedway.

One of the stories that caught our attention during Club Kart Race #3 at Sandy Hook Speedway was about an exchange student from Switzerland who joined the local karting community and took to the track.

Grassroots motorsports has a way of bringing people together from all walks of life, and sometimes from across the world.

Racers' Pit Report was there to capture the action, the atmosphere, and the stories that make local motorsports special.

2026 Kart-Um Downs Sprint Championship 6/13 & 6/14 @ Sandy Hook Speedway
(STREET, MD) - Saturday, June 13th and Sunday, June 14th is when the action gets fast!  KART-UM DOWNS Sprint Championship details are here! 
4 different track configurations, 4 Feature Races in 2 days for 1 Champion!
All of the information you need can be found @ www.sandyhookspeedway.com
This is the only event of its kind in the region!  You need to be at Sandy Hook Speedway for this action-packed weekend! 
Teams will be able to camp out over night from Saturday to Sunday.
We will be awarding the top 3 for the 4 road course races & 2 oval races
We will then be awarding the top three drivers for the overall 2026 Kart-Um Downs Sprint Championship.
7:00 am: Gate opens Saturday & Sunday
7:45 am: Registration opens Day no.1   
(8:00 am: Registration Opens Day no.2)
8:55 am: Registration ends both days
9:00 am: Driver's meeting both days
9:30 am: Practice begins both days

(STREET, MD) - Club Kart Race no.3 is coming this Sunday! Awesome day of spending time at your favorite track, great food from the cafe and oh yes! Racing! Make sure you tell everyone to come on out to spectate and check out the racing Sunday!
