I ke(y)pt going with the German keytops project on my new adopted 1920s A-3 Steinway project today, and here is a shot of the results. I am grateful for filers filers, Roo glue, glue spreaders, a headlamp, a mask, and my favorite tools: eyes and fingers! Very much looking forward to putting the action back in and playing the piano with these on after the 24 hour curing period is complete. My favorite moment will be when a new family enjoys this piano!

Not to ‘harp’ on about it (2 harps in fact), but I do rather enjoy giving old uprights a deep clean. This prevents dust kicking up into the player’s lungs while the piano is being played and improves the string tone etc. I fairly often find that I may have be the first or perhaps second person to ever open it up and take the keys off for a clean. A generational clean is satisfying! Here’s a photo from a cleaning in progress on the Randolph Senior Center’s fun piano!
