The weather is perfect for trying a new sport! Check out the Stowe Parks and Recreation Department's beginner and low intermediate pickleball programs this September. Register online at https://secure.rec1.com/VT/stowe-vt/catalog or by calling us at 802-253-6138

Introduction to Pickleball (1 class)
Sat, Sept 12 | 11am-1pm
$35/person
Learn parts of the court, rules, and scoring. We will cover the basic rally shots (forehand, backhand, d***s and volleys.) This course is recommended for those who have never played pickleball or played only once or twice. Participants should come prepared wearing comfortable clothing and court shoes. Paddles and balls will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own. Instructed by Chris Tudor, PPR Certified Coach.

Low Intermediate Improvement (1 class)
Fri, Sept 11 | 5:30-7pm
This program is for pickleball players with a skill rating of 2.5 to 3.0. Know the basics of playing pickleball but want to build on your skills? This intermediate pickleball program is for you! Participants should come prepared wearing comfortable clothing and court shoes. Paddles and balls will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own. Instructed by Chris Tudor, PPR Certified Coach.

This program consists of two classes. During each class we will build on skills and players will learn more mechanics, control, and strategy.

Join the flag football movement! Stowe Area Flag Football League registration is open now.

All kids are welcome to join the fun as our flag football coaches teach participants the basic rules, strategies and skills to enjoy the game. Participants will be playing in a challenging, non-competitive environment, we keep players focused on the fundamentals of the game, maintaining good sportsmanship and, most importantly, having FUN!

D1-D3 (Kindergarten-8th grades):
Flag Weekend! Sat Aug 29th & Sun 30th- Practice and Draft. Teams are picked based on player abilities.
Sept 6- NO PROGRAM
Sept 13- Oct 18- Practices and regular season games
Oct 25- Practice and Playoffs
Nov 1- Practice and Super Bowl & Consolation Games

D4 (9th-12th grades):
Sept 13- Nov 1 Practice and scrimmages

Full season schedule will be posted after the registration deadline. Late registrations will incur a $15 fee due to shipping expenses for jerseys after bulk order for the season.

We will also be seeking volunteer coaches and refs for the season. Refereeing is a great opportunity for high school students seeking community service hours!

Come celebrate with Stowe Parks & Recreation on Sunday, July 19, from 1–3 PM as we officially open the brand-new playground at Moscow Field! Featuring a swing set, climbing structure and balance beams; families, adults and children of all ages are welcome to attend!

Enjoy the new and improved space, cookout with free food & drinks and a chance to connect with neighbors while celebrating this wonderful new community space.

We can't wait to see you there and celebrate this exciting addition to Moscow Field together!

En Fuego Hoops and Hoops 3 Club are so thrilled to be hosting summer shooting clinics in partnership with Stowe Recreation!

These sessions are for players who want to compete on their respective school, AAU and/or club teams. In partnership with Hoop Club () and En Fuego Sports, this clinic is designed for players completing grades 5,6, and 7 in the 25/26 school year, focusing on shooting, ball handling, and individual skill development. Sessions are high energy and fast moving. Prepare for your upcoming season with intense, focused training.

Boys- July 14-16 | Tues-Thur | 5-7:30pm | Stowe Elementary School Gym
Girls- July 21-23 | Tues- Thur | 5-7:30pm | Stowe High School Gym

Cost: $105 per player

The community is invited to celebrate the grand opening of the new Stowe Quiet Path Hammock Garden. This special event marks the unveiling of a relaxing new outdoor space designed to bring people together, unwind, and enjoy the natural beauty of the area.

The opening ceremony will take place on Friday, May 8th at 3:30 PM and will feature live music, light refreshments, and remarks from local speakers. Attendees will have the opportunity to gather, connect, and experience the Stowe Quiet Path Hammock Garden firsthand.

The Hammock Garden was created as a welcoming space for residents and visitors alike to pause, recharge, and foster a stronger sense of community. Nestled along the scenic Quiet Path, the hammock garden offers a peaceful setting for relaxation and connection.
