571 Projects supports the work of dynamic emerging and mid-career artists by bringing conceptually strong, well-crafted work to the notice of an engaged art going and collecting public, via independent curatorial practice. We are dedicated to the careful curation of a thoughtful selection of artists, and to nurturing curiosity and contemplation in our collectors and art enthusiasts. In addition, w

e welcome and encourage the public to engage with art and exhibitions at our micro gallery, located at 56 Park Street, Stowe, Vermont. Founded by Sophie Bréchu-West, an alumna of Christie’s Education with a Master’s in Contemporary Art and Connoisseurship, 571 Projects opened its doors as a boutique gallery in New York City's Chelsea in October 2009, housed in an old warehouse affectionately called Cold Castle. When the building was slated for demolition in 2012, the program became nomadic. Settled in Stowe, Vermont since 2015, 571 Projects continues to build a community through special projects. A deep, lifelong love of art and a desire to promote the work of significant, and at times overlooked, emerging artists drives her curatorial and consulting practice.
