Studio Update!
I wanted to thank you for your sincere patience and dedication as we have been searching the local area for a new dance home. I also want to thank you for continuing to choose dance and for supporting our small business these past two years, and many years prior. None of us could have ever imagined that we would find ourselves in world pandemic and lockdown. And then on top of that, our little family walking my daughter through a childhood cancer diagnosis. Lots of big things all in a row.
I know that Grace In Motion is a special place that welcomes everyone through its doors, creating a safe, kind and inspiring space for dancers to explore the art of dance, build their technique and develop their artistry and confidence through self-expression. We are extremely proud of our dancers. I am so honored that together, with all of you, and our amazing faculty, we have created the healthy, safe, encouraging environment that GIM provides over the last 21 years! Moving is simply saying goodbye to the building and hello to the amazing opportunities ahead. That may also come with some change, but often times change gives us back goodness 10 times over if we allow it to.
I want to thank each of the members of the Grace In Motion Faculty for their support and dedication to their teaching over the years, but especially through the pandemic and my family’s journey through my daughter’s diagnosis. Their willingness to pivot and adapt has been truly amazing. Their dedication, professionalism and expertise are top notch and their passion for sharing dance with our students is truly inspiring. It makes my heart burst. They continued to teach, inspire, support, encourage, entertain, mentor, create and lead each and every week! I’m so honored and grateful to work with such a fabulous team of creative individuals and I genuinely appreciate all that they have contributed to our students and the studio this year and the many years prior.
Experiences such as walking your child through cancer shines a bright light for a Mama on perspective. As I prayed and searched and also watched what was taking place organically the last few years at GIM, I hope you would understand that just as our studio values sing the message of family first, that is in fact what I believe God is placing on my heart too. So with this move also comes more of a supporting role for me as the director and owner of GIM. But something I am excited and looking forward to. You know how "When one door closes, another door opens”? I think of those times as little taps on our shoulders that even though what’s ahead may be different- it holds the possibility of something wonderful we can’t see at the moment. All we have to do is take that first step to find out!
So what’s happening? Where are we going?
If you remember, last Spring 2021, we joined together with Studio Luminance and put on back to back recitals, sharing a large safe indoor space that could fit all of our dance families in the best way possible. We were still in the midst of pandemic procedures but likeminded wanted our dancers to have a staged performance to celebrate all the hard work everyone put into their dance technique. Christine, the director of Studio Luminance, and I have been dear friends from our church’s womens Bible studies for almost 5 years now. It was a joy to combine our studios for the 2020-2021 recitals last year. I believe supporting each other in our trials is what we’re called to do,building each other up to be the best we can be. That is what makes a difference in our communities, setting an example of camaraderie and unity. It’s that friendship, sincerity and like mindedness that helped push this tiny inkling of an idea to a full blown plan of action. We’re so excited to announce the merging of our two studios. More dance friends, more teamwork, more inspiration, more classes but still the same sweet, kind, respectful dance family atmosphere we both hold value to. We are going to build our new dance home together, merging into one big dance family in their building! Studio Luminance with Grace In Motion! Just one mile from our current location:)
As we begin to work together on this vision, we are here for you to help in any way to make this transitions as smooth as possible for all of our dancers. So much will be familiar but also we’d love for you to remain open to the new! The most important though that will always remain the same is that we will continue to treasure and nurture your children as they grow in the art of dance.
With love,
Miss Missy
