This monster of a Fella left last night for his new home in a new, BITCHIN’ outdoor Tiki Oasis that gets christened Friday night with a big bash.
Short deadline, and a false start made for some interesting moments, but myMAN Roger was really happy with the carve.
A little under 3’ of of black walnut.

An unusually cold, wet Saturday night, late Spring.
Hanging by the orange tv with the Gorgeous Twins, big middle fingers to NE Ohio’s abuse.
Without pre-thought, grabbed this bent piece 0’ ash, threw it into the fire, then ran to the house for a mallet and a couple of cheap chisels. Listening to the voices of two of my most BELOVED SOULS, great music, and my own tap-taps, I made a pile of wood chips
and this Guy.
PERFECT setting for a return.

Hey Kids!,
Trust ALL is GREAT with YOU.
Just blew the dust off this page, and confirmed my thought that it has, in fact, been OVER TWO YEARS since I did anything Tiki.
Long story short;
THANKS and LOVE to
the BEAUTIFUL SOULS that I am BLESSED to have in my Life for the encouragement, I’m “back”
hu***ng at one of my favorite legs.
Another big hug to all the Folks that liked my stuff during the hiatus, Thank YOU.

Ive hacked away at a couple hunks o’ wood recently, I’ll post those soon.

AHIIHA will be participating in a BITCHIN’ event in Parma on July 17, that info coming soon, as well.

I am a blessed Fella #3.
Carving is a pretty solitary activity, and no matter how happy I am with a finished piece, there is always an element that bothers me. THEN you wonder if said idol will be accepted by anyone.
In a nutshell:
“I’m not totally happy with this guy, and everyone is gonna think it sucks”

Then there are these moments - someone comes along, digs a piece, and gives it a new home.- the sky clears, the waves are great, and your face hurts from smiling so much.

The Gorgeous Twins represented the display with beauty, style, grace, (offsets the knuckledraggin’ savagery of me and offspring) and their knowledge of my stuff is such that I was unnecessary.

Really liked the idea, kinda accepted the cut, HATED the finished piece.
This one, was to quote Pinhead “this is NOT for your eyes”.

Shark idol holding a skull.
Can’t catch the way sunlight dances through the wood grain, and aqua-marine stain with this phone.
Nice, glossy coat of Spar, can’t wait to see pictures of this guy in five years.
