On loan this summer is Peonies (1973) by Fairfield Porter. This painting from the Benton’s collection is featured in Fairfield Porter: What Everyone Knows, which brings together over 35 works by the artist.

Happy Birthday, Ms. Monroe!

In honor of her 100th birthday on June 1, we are highlighting not ONE but TWO works of art from The Benton’s collection that feature Marilyn Monroe. Find them in the exhibition, Exploring America at 250, on view through August 2.

The Benton’s sold-out Horsebarn Hill Walking Tour with UConn professors Robert Thorson and Janet Pritchard made for a fun evening. Participants explored geology and landscape photography on the hill in conjunction with the exhibition, Raid the Archive: New Eyes on Horsebarn Hill.
