Caustic Merriment

Back to the source! We re-traced Jeff London’s footprints to the gallery where he showed his work, to the studio where he made it, and down the street where he paraded it.

Now, we sorting out the book postage for those who did not get it hand delivered.

Our book launch participants in Stony Creek got this cool book bag featuring my dad’s 1969 publicity poster for his Caustic Merriment lectures for 125 bucks and one of his famous quotes.

We had some confusion about the book distribution, while we were making our Art Happening Parade, 5 books walked off, that were destined for locals who pre-paid…. So watch for an email from Jeffer asking if you got your book. Soon as that is settled, we’ll post the rest of the books.

A few shots of today’s Portrait of the Artist, who was my father, event today. 👀 Hopefully people who were there will share some pics (to [email protected]) to edit into something more elaborate to tell the story of a beautiful moment together. We will be sorting out the shipping of the rest of the books next week. 🦋Jeff London created Caustic Merriment as a place to be with friends like this. 💜💜💜

Caustic Merriment is coming to New Haven! We will he running a workshop for the students of the Educational Center for the Arts (ECA) on Thursday 10 September 2026 at 1:30PM, in the Creative Arts Workshop building (across from ECA). If you would like to join Jeffer, direct message him. Probably won’t have the books delivered for this one.

Next, join us at the Keyes Gallery in Stony Creek CT, on Saturday 12 September 2026 at noon. Together, we will make a bit of art, hear some stories, and retrace the steps of the infamous Land Yacht Parade from Jeff’s art studio (next to the library) to the Stony Creek Market (next to the purple house where it all began) to share more tales over coffee.

Hopefully we will have the books to collect & sign in Stony Creek. Still looking for a Little Red Wagon to tote the books and art supplies, in case you have one, please bring it along.

Summer 2026 Update on the book going to print

We printed the first book. Smooth finish, great colors... just one little detail amiss.

Bring your books for a personal inscription, share a story, and go home with a work of art.

Caustic Merriment Book Proof arrives in France, with a few surprises. It’s 40 celsius degrees here in Barbizon, home of plein air painting - we’re feeling celebratory but something in the landscape is askew. Looks like we will ship in August not July.

05/19/2026

We are accepting orders until the printing press runs.
Then we pack, ship & say “ooff, we’re done!”
Until 20 May 2026, you can order your book at:
https://www.jefferlondon.com/causticmerriment

Last chance to own your limited edition of
Caustic Merriment: The Art and Times of Jeff London & Friends
ISBN: 979-8-9987860-0-6

We are in line for the test print now, which gets sent from Nashville to bali, then any fine tuning, then the limited print run, and should arrive to people in July.
