Projects2k

Projects2k Creating collaborative events that foster the fusing of art and science as a means of discovery and appreciation of the natural world. Welcome!

Projects for a New Millennium (P2K) was established in 1993 by
environmental artist Joy Wulke as a not-for-profit corporation to
foster creative collaborations between scientists and artists that
would result in educational programs and spectacle-events. By fusing art and science to enhance the public’s curiosity about
and appreciation for the natural world, P2K’s presentations and
educationa

l programs reveal aspects of practical knowledge and
inspire a philo-sophical worldview that celebrates differences—
human, biological, and geological, for example—while
recognizing the critical importance of peace and free-dom to
global environmental health.

Unfiltered: An Exhibit about Water
Now through May 6, 2018 at UConn Avery Point Campus - Alexey von Schlippe Gallery of Art
Unfiltered explores water as a universal concern and touches on the themes of: the power of water and the changing landscape; water pollution and biology;
water scarcity; climate change; the physical properties of water; and the Connecticut River. The exhibition attempts to place on view works of art which provide visual launching points for discussions about these important water-based issues.

Projects2k members Jamie Burnett and Gioia Connell designed a tribute to Joy Wulke titled "Transcendental Forms" for this year's L.A.M.P. New Haven.

Joy's glass sculptures created a tranquil alcove within the vibrant atmosphere of Ninth Square, while kaleidoscopic glasses took the instillation to psychedelic heights!

Thank you to Artspace New Haven for hosting and Paul Theriault for his amazing curatorial work!
