Stonington/Mystic/Groton friends: I’ll have a tent at Wehpittituck Farm on Cove Road this Saturday, August 15 from 10am-1pm, selling pottery. A lot of vases to go with the beautiful flower arrangements that Carrie Moran creates. There will also be vendors selling lavender products like soap and candles, elderberry syrup and tomato marmalade. Of course the farm is overflowing right now with beautiful tomatoes, eggplant, cukes . . . And the weather should be spectacular!

Really happy with the kiln opening this morning! You always worry before you lift the lid that pieces might be broken or the glaze will have run too much. I do have one vase that I don’t like the lower half of that I’m going to add a layer or two of glaze and refire and I had two pieces that I did in the same glaze combination that ran a lot. I have them in the freezer now and hope to be able to knock them off the cookie that caught the glaze once they’re solidly cold. 

PS: The little sliver of the Christmas wreath in the picture is appropriate since opening the kiln is like Christmas! 🎄
