DEER ISLE-STONINGTON PRIDE PRESENTS A TWO-DAY ISLAND PRIDE CELEBRATION

Deer Isle-Stonington Pride is happy to announce the Annual Deer Isle-Stonington Island Pride Celebration is back the weekend of June 21, with special appearances by Ryan Fecteau, Speaker of the Maine House of Representatives.

The weekend will begin at 7:00PM on Saturday, June 21, with a kickoff celebration at Deer Isle Music Hall & BBQ. Sunset Crossroad will provide the music, Speaker of the Maine House Ryan Fecteau will speak, and there will be food and drink for sale. Come in your rainbow colors, your feathers, glitter, and sequins, and take the dance floor by storm.

Sunday, June 22, a Pride Motorcade and Family Picnic will take place at the Stonington Ballfield (40 School Street, Stonington, ME), beginning at 12:00pm with a public motorcade around the island and continuing at 1:00pm with a family-style picnic near the playground.

To participate in the motorcade, meet up in the parking lot across the street from the Stonington Ballfield at 11:30am to decorate your vehicle and line up. The motorcade will depart at 12:00pm and travel along 15A through Deer Isle Village and loop back to the Stonington Ballfield.

At 1:00pm, join us at the Stonington Ballfield for a family-style picnic. Bring a picnic lunch and a blanket or chairs to sit on; festivities will include volleyball, games, vendors, music, speakers, and a Keynote address by Ryan Fecteau, Speaker of the Maine House of Representatives.

3rd annual Deer Isle Stonington Pride!
We had a great turnout, some delicious food from Goody's Grub, inspiration from advocate/minister Sue Davenport, tshirts, face painting, nail decorating,woodworkings, and entertainment from Wood Lily!
The weather held out, the crowd was friendly, and the day was perfect!
A huge thank you to everyone who helped to make sure today happened! Onward we go- together, because LOVE is LOVE! 🏳️‍🌈

Come to Island Community Center at 2:30 to decorate your vehicle.
Motorcade at 3:00 around the island.
Back at Island Community Center for a kickoff by Rev Susan Davenport, music by Wood Lily, food by Goody's Grub, games, face painting, and tons of fun!

We are so excited to have Rev. Dr. Susan Davenport as our keynote speaker on Sunday:

“The Rev. Dr. Susan Davenport graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Nursing in 1974, and spent the next 10 years in the nursing profession. In 1984 she went to Bangor Theological Seminary and graduated in 1988 with a Master of Divinity and was ordained in the United Methodist Church in 1990. She has served churches in Maine over the last thirty years, including the Stonington UMC.
Susan lives with her wife, Karen, in Surry and continues to serve the small churches on the coast of Maine in retirement.”
