Hey Y'all, Hey!!! We are adding a new element to our "BE THAT LIGHT" virtual panel series!!! Thanks to added tech abilities brought to you by the LOVELY !!! We will be shining LIGHT on different black artists 10 minutes prior to each discussion. Tomorrow June 21st at 4:50pm CST we are featuring two AMAZING artists!!! You can hear a BEAUTIFUL song from Kelly Sloan and Sha'Leah Nikole before COVID TIME: "THE WAKE UP"!!! Here's a little more about them...
Bottom left is Kelly Sloan (one of my DePaul TTS homies)!!! She’s from Detroit, Michigan. She is a singer/songwriter artistic educator and performer. Her life's mission and artistry is her own creative protest ❤️✊🏾 She has an EP titled “Blank Pages” available on all streaming platforms and will be releasing more music in the coming months. A cute reminder that

Today is Loving Day.
"The anniversary of the 1967 United States Supreme Court decision Loving v. Virginia which struck down all anti-miscegenation laws remaining in sixteen U.S. states." Though anti-miscegenation laws were still on the books in some states until as late as 1987. 1.9.8.7. (If you don't know what anti-miscegenation is, look it up.) Had and I been together before 1967, our marriage would have been illegal. And, likely, harshly punished. "Because" of the color of our skin. Because of fear and hate in the hearts of the people who created those laws.
Think. About. That.
If a law is just? Follow it.
If a law is unjust? Change. It.
There is still work to do.
