The Reynolds Gallery is proud to present Women’s Rights are Human Rights, an online poster exhibition curated by Elizabeth Resnick, design educator and Professor Emerita at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Pacific student curators Crystal Baltazar, Paola Baltazar Salcedo, and Megan Rabatan under the mentorship of professor Marie Lee and university curator Lisa Cooperman created a virtual exhibition by selecting 50 posters from the show’s original 109.

The Center for Creativity and the Arts at Fresno State is now accepting submissions through September 10th for their virtual juried exhibition, Pandemical. Hello everyone,

We, students and faculty, are all about to begin exploring new territory in education. This promises to be exciting and interesting but the circumstances also bring certain amounts of disappointment and sadness. It is certainly a letdown to have so many special projects, events, conferences, gallery exhibitions, etc. come to a premature close. As your teachers, we share that feeling with you. As we move forward we are looking at alternative technology and ways of working remotely that will be different and perhaps confusing, but also exciting, inspirational and creative.

Your teachers have spent this last week learning new software, redesigning courses and modifying assignments, or completely replacing them with new ones, to finish the semester meaningfully and successfully. Teaching art and design does not easily fit into the model of an online class. Learning art and design this way is also not easy to figure out. Communication without a doubt will be key to making this work. With that in mind your teachers will be exploring multiple ways for you to interact, ask questions and respond creatively. You won’t be meeting one another in person in the studio/classroom, for the remainder of the semester. It is therefore essential that you remain in contact with one another through whatever virtual means your teachers have set up for you to do so.

I encourage us all to look at the rest of the semester as a creative challenge. How can we be artists and designers in this new reality? In most cases, the work that is created will not be delivered in final form in a traditional or conventional manner. Keep this in mind as you work. Use this knowledge as an asset.

Details about the semester change daily and you are no doubt receiving a huge number of messages announcing them. These will diminish in quantity over time, but you want to make every effort to stay in touch with this information not only to help you with your class assignments, but to also stay healthy and safe.

Tiger Day is an event for accepted early-action applicants to come to campus.
