Some nights are entertaining. Others become part of your memory.

On Saturday, September 26, the gardens of The River Mill will fill with music.

You’ll hear the Latin rhythms of Primitivo as cocktails are poured.
You’ll experience violinist Ava Pakiam, pianist Cole Anderson, and the distinctive sound of Koto Yuki.
You’ll watch Amy Burkman create a work of art before your eyes.
And after dinner, DJ Fayette Latrice will turn the evening into a celebration.

But this night is about more than dinner, music, and dancing.

One hundred years ago, two organizations began serving this community.

The Stockton Symphony began bringing great music to San Joaquin County.

United Way of San Joaquin County began bringing people together to make this community stronger.

A century later, both are still here.

Still serving.
Still connecting people.
Still believing in what this community can become.

🎶 Did you know? The Stockton Symphony is turning 100.

For nearly a century, the Stockton Symphony has brought live orchestral music to our community — from classical masterworks to pops concerts, family programs, student performances, and unforgettable community celebrations.

This season, we begin our Centennial Season, and we are celebrating the people, places, and moments that have made the Symphony part of Stockton’s story since 1926.

As we get ready for our July 4th performance at Weber Point, we are also looking ahead to a full year of music, memories, and celebration.

Today, we join the music world in remembering Michael Tilson Thomas — one of America’s great conductors, composers, educators, and musical visionaries.

For 25 years, MTT led the San Francisco Symphony with imagination, depth, and a fearless commitment to both the great masterworks and the music of our time. His influence reached far beyond the Bay Area through his recordings, his work with young musicians, and his belief that orchestral music should be alive, curious, and connected to the world around us.

As a California orchestra, we feel a special gratitude for his extraordinary legacy and the way he helped shape the musical life of our region.

Thank you, MTT, for a lifetime of music, mentorship, and inspiration.

Michael Tilson Thomas died April 22, 2026, at age 81. He was a 12-time Grammy winner, Music Director Laureate of the San Francisco Symphony, and co-founder of the New World Symphony.

We are honored to welcome Terrence Wilson as our acclaimed pianist for our upcoming performance of Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4 on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 6:00 pm.

Terrence Wilson is a graduate of The Juilliard School, where he studied with Yoheved Kaplinsky. He has appeared as soloist with many of the nation’s leading orchestras, including Cleveland, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Detroit, and the National Symphony Orchestra, and has performed at major venues such as Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center, and the Ravinia Festival. Among his notable honors are an Avery Fisher Career Grant, the Juilliard Petschek Award, and a Grammy nomination for his recording of Michael Daugherty’s Deus ex Machina.

Known for his extraordinary artistry, elegance, and expressive power, Terrence Wilson brings one of Beethoven’s most beloved piano concertos to life in a work filled with lyric beauty, emotional depth, and brilliance.
