✨ Fairy Houses & Forest Dwellings at Prospect Berkshires!

This morning, we gathered in the woods to create tiny homes from moss, bark, sticks, stones, and other natural treasures. Each one became its own little woodland world, filled with imaginative details and plenty of magic. 🌿🏡🧚🏽

As we soak up the last days of summer, we’re looking back at the wonderful weeks we shared at camp.

So many curious minds, creative ideas, and moments of joy as we painted, printed, wove, felted, built, explored, experimented, each day.

We are so grateful to all the families for trusting us with these precious summer days and the kids for filling them with so much imagination, laughter, and color. And a HUGE thank you to Katherine Smith , miaaaaaa , and Le Petit Ranch for bringing your passion, creativity and energy to the program.

What a spectacular summer. We’re already looking forward to the next one!

And now counting down days until the fall program kicks off on September 16! We’ve got so much fun in store with art, animals, and more!

🍂 FALL REGISTRATION IS OPEN! 🍂

We’re excited to announce that registration is officially open for our Fall After School Programs at Second Nature Arts!

This season, we’re teaming up with Le Petit Ranch for a playful exploration of the ways animals have inspired artists and cultures around the world. 🐑🐓🐴🐹

Choose from:
-Tuesdays: Felt & Fibers | Ages 7–10 + Art Mentors 11–14
-Wednesdays: Art & Animals | Ages 5–10 + Art Mentors 11–14
-Thursdays: Art & Animals | Ages 5–10 + Art Mentors 11–14

Expect hands-on art-making, animal encounters, imaginative projects, and plenty of opportunities to explore, experiment, and make something uniquely your own.

Fairy Houses & Forest Dwellings

After getting rained out on Saturday, Sunday delivered perfect weather—and some beautiful magic-hour light.

We wandered the winding paths through the woods at Prospect Berkshires, gathering moss, stones, sticks, and other treasures and contemplating where magical creatures might live. Then we got to making our tiny enchanted dwellings.

It was a lovely evening of creativity, discovery, and letting the forest inspire us.

P.S. If you’d like to join us for the next program, we’ll be back on August 26 to make more tiny enchanted dwellings.

🌿 Join us this Saturday from 5-7pm at Prospect Berkshires!

Create a tiny home for a magical creature with Second Nature Arts! Kids ages 5–12 will use natural materials and their imaginations to design enchanting woodland dwellings in this hands-on art workshop.

New art sculptures from old books, paper scraps, and a little creative writing during our Secret Life of Books camp week. 📚✨

We kicked off our final week of summer camp by going back to where every book begins: paper!

Our campers transformed this summer’s art scraps, fruit cartons, and old stationary into beautiful handmade sheets. From blending pulp to pulling screens to the big reveal, there was plenty of tactile, hands-on making.

What a lovely fiber display by the Berkshire Hills & Dales Spinners Guild at the Blueberry Festival. From raw fleece and naturally dyed wool to handspun yarn, it was such a joy to see, touch, and explore.

And somehow, The Field Guide to Fleece keeps popping up wherever we go…Perhaps it’s trying to tell us something. 😉

While we’re still soaking up summer, we’re also getting excited for our Art + Animals After School Program collaboration with Le Petit Ranch this September. Stay tuned for more details!
