We’re excited to share an upcoming workshop focused on the process of making agateware ceramics, led by Philadelphia-based artist Mackenzie Pikaart:

Her work is rooted in memory, emotion, and the quiet rhythms of daily life. She creates functional pieces that reflect moments of introspection, using pigmented clay, form and texture to explore the space between solitude and connection. Other than making her personal work, Mackenzie produces a line of works for wholesale, is a ceramics educator and mentor to many in Philadelphia and beyond. Mackenzie received her BFA in Crafts / Ceramics through The University of the Arts in Philadelphia 2011. Makenzie is in the process of her next large solo installation, a 2000 dinnerware and home decor show about sets and finding place in our world at Foyer Gallery in Richmond VA, January - March 2027.

In this workshop, participants will learn the fundamentals of agateware, including how to combine and manipulate colored clays to create layered, marbled surfaces.

Saturday, May 30, 2026
10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Lenox Community Center
65 Walker Street
Lenox, MA 01240

We hope you’ll join us for this special opportunity to learn from Mackenzie and engage with the unique possibilities of agateware ceramics. Register online at berkshirepotterscollective.org

Additionally, join us online May 12th from 5:30 to 6:30 for our next Virtual Clay Conversations! RSVP at berkshirepotterscollective.org

We are thrilled to announce our upcoming juried teapot show Revolutionary Teapots held at historic Chesterwood in Stockbridge, MA.

We invite you to share your interpretations of what it might mean to be a “Revolutionary” teapot (endowed with the forms, colors or symbols associated with 1776 and our early history); or a “revolutionary” teapot (a vessel that defies norms or stretches boundaries); or, simply, wonderfully unique!

For complete information about the show and submission eligibility, please visit https://showsubmit.com/show/bpc-revolutionary-teapots

Leslie Ferrin, gallerist and leading specialist in contemporary ceramic art, will judge the show and designate award winners. Revolutionary Teapots will open on August 1st and close on September 27th.

Leslie Ferrin is the director of Ferrin Contemporary, curator and author of Teapots Transformed. Awards, $300 First Place; $200 Second Place; $100 Third Place; plus, two $50 Honorable Mentions, generously provided by exhibition sponsors, will be presented by Ms. Ferrin at the opening reception.

Please spread the word! The show is open to artists currently residing or working in the following five regional counties: Berkshire and Hampshire in MA, Columbia and Greene in NY, and Litchfield, CT.

Be “revolutionary” with your form, your message, your glaze, your design — your vision!
