What a day! ❤️🐴

First and foremost, THANK YOU to everyone who stayed patient, kind, and understanding through all of the changes surrounding our parking situation due to the weather. We know it wasn’t ideal, and we truly appreciate everyone rolling with it and helping us make it work.

Despite Mother Nature keeping us on our toes, the race went smoothly, and we are so thankful to everyone who came out to run with us. Congratulations to all of our winners! 🏆

One of my favorite parts of the day was getting to watch some first-time PeeWee barrel racers make their very first runs. There is something pretty special about knowing their first barrel race was one of ours. Watching the next generation come through the gate with those big smiles and even bigger excitement is a good reminder of what this is really all about - the love of the horse, the love of the sport, and getting to share it with the next generation. ❤️

A huge THANK YOU to Fancy Dance Casino for your Open sponsorship! Your support helps us continue putting on these events, and we are incredibly appreciative.

And we absolutely have to thank our crew. When plans changed, you stepped up, jumped in wherever you were needed, and helped us keep everything moving. There are so many things that happen behind the scenes to make a barrel race run smoothly, and we could not do it without good people willing to pitch in and make it happen. We appreciate every single one of you!

Finally, thank you to everyone who entered, supported, cheered, parked wherever we told you to 😂, and made the best of a situation we couldn’t control.

At the end of the day, good horses, good people, and getting to watch the next generation fall in love with this sport is what makes it all worth it.

Thank you for spending the day with us. Until next time! 🥂🐴

📣 IMPORTANT RACE DAY UPDATE — PLEASE READ

The pre-draw is POSTED and entries are back OPEN! 🎉

We are moving forward with the barrel race this evening, but we need everyone’s cooperation to make it happen!

Our usual pasture parking area is still pretty wet. We are hoping that it continues to dry throughout the afternoon and that we may be able to utilize it by this evening. Until then, we will be parking rigs on the gravel.

Parking may be tight, and we are asking everyone to please be patient, be kind, and listen to our parking help. They are going to do everything they can to get everyone in, parked safely, and make the best use of the space we have.

We do want to be very clear about this: please be respectful to the people helping us park. We are doing everything we can to have this barrel race for the benefit of our contestants. If you are rude or disrespectful to the people who are here trying to help make that possible, you will not be welcome back.

🐴 WARM-UP & GATE:
The alley gate will be closed this evening. We will allow warm-up time in the arena before each race, so everyone will have an opportunity to get their horses warmed up before we begin.

We also completely understand if, with these changes, you choose to draw out. There are absolutely no hard feelings. This is not our usual way of doing things, and we understand it may not work for everyone. We are simply trying to accommodate around the weather and still give everyone who wants to run the opportunity to do so.

If you choose to draw out, please reach out to Lindsey at 405-334-6977.

We don’t expect everything to be perfect tonight. We just need everyone to bring a little patience and understanding with them. We’ll make it work the best we can!

Thank you to everyone who is willing to work with us. A little patience and kindness will go a long way tonight.

Pre-draw is posted, entries are OPEN, and we’ll see you tonight! 🤠

🌧️ WEATHER UPDATE 🌧️

We received about an inch of rain overnight, and things are definitely pretty wet around here this morning.

The good news is, if we don’t receive much more rain, we think we’ll be okay to have the race! 🤞🏼

We’re going to give everything a few more hours to see what the weather does and how the grounds respond. We will make the official call around 2:00 PM today.

We know everyone is trying to make plans, haul horses, and figure out their day, so we’ll make the decision as soon as we feel like we have a good read on conditions.

Stay tuned — we’re still hopeful! 🤠

🌧️ BARREL RACE WEATHER UPDATE 🌧️ RACE IS ON (unless it becomes unsafe!)

We know there is some rain in the forecast, so we wanted to give everyone an update ahead of time.

As of right now, we fully intend to HAVE THE RACE! We will do everything within our power to keep things rolling. Unless we are dealing with storms that create an unsafe situation for horses, competitors, or spectators, we plan to run.

Depending on how much rain we receive and how our usual parking area holds up, we may have to make some adjustments to parking. We will start by parking rigs on the gravel parking areas first and work from there.

If parking conditions are less than ideal, we just ask everyone to bear with us, be patient, and follow the directions of whoever is helping park. It may take us a little longer to get everyone situated, but we’ll get you in!

We’ll continue watching the weather and conditions closely and will communicate any changes if necessary.

For now — plan on coming to run with us! 🤠
