Designs are coming to life for Songs for a New World! 🎭

Tuesday evening in the Movement Lab, the cast got a first look at the creative vision for the production as the design team presented scenic, costume, lighting, sound, and projection concepts for the show.

From renderings and research to models and design boards, the presentations gave cast members a glimpse into the artistic process and the collaboration that brings a production from an idea to the stage. The evening offered an exciting look at the world being created for Songs for a New World and all the creativity happening behind the scenes.

Check out these photos from the designer presentations!
See if for yourself on October 2-4 at the Locke. Tickets are available online at okla.st/theatre or stop by the box office in the Seretean Center for the Performing Arts in the lobby. (Mon-Fri, 8-5). Your Stage, Your Story!

Visiting Assistant Professor of Music Theatre Voice Lyndsee Bell continued to expand her artistry, leadership, and expertise across the country. She performed as Alonso in The Tempest with Oklahoma Shakespeare in the Park and spent five weeks in Boston serving as Program Director and Director for NEMPAC (North End Music & Performing Arts Center).

She also took the stage at The Napoleon Room at Club Café, performing alongside one of her professional students, and invested in her own professional development by attending both the Oklahoma City University Vocal Pedagogy and Vocology Intensive and the Boston Conservatory Vocal Pedagogy Professional Workshop.

In between rehearsals and workshops, Bell visited the Derrick Adams featured exhibition at Boston's Institute of Contemporary Art.

Bell will be a featured performer in Collage Cabaret (Sept. 11), serve as Vocal Director for Macbeth with Storyteller Theatre, and is directing Songs for a New World at Oklahoma State Theatre (Oct. 2-4). We are excited to see the impact of her experiences on our students and productions this season.
