Last but certainly not least, our founder, owner, and creator behind Forthcoming’s vision, Jodi Flatoff!

Years ago, Jodi opened the doors to what was then just a small studio—but with her vision, passion, and love for dance, it quickly grew into a home for countless dancers. A place where anyone who walks through the doors can feel confident, beautiful, and totally free to shine.

Through the years, Jodi has shared her talent, creativity, and deep love of dance across so many styles—jazz, tap, modern, ballet, hip hop—and her encouragement has left a lasting impression on dancers and families alike. More than anything, she’s helped young dancers find their voice, their strength, and their joy.

As we begin a new semester without Miss Jodi in the studio, her presence is still felt in so many ways. It lives in the energy of each class, the love that fills our studio, and in every dancer who continues to grow because of the strong, beautiful foundation she built. Because of her, Forthcoming isn’t just a studio—it’s a family.

Thank you, Jodi, for creating this space, for leading with love, and for giving so many of us a place to belong. Your legacy will always be a part of who we are. 💛

Next for our Instructor Spotlight is Caitlyn Bethke!!

Caitlyn began dancing at the age of 12, and began teaching and choreographing at Forthcoming in 2017! Originally from the northwest suburbs of Chicago, Caitlyn found a passion for contemporary, jazz, and lyrical dance while attending conventions and competitions throughout the Midwest. Along with teaching her favorite styles, Caitlyn also loves teaching technique for dancers of all ages.💜

Caitlyn’s favorite thing about teaching at Forthcoming is witnessing the dancers grow into their artistry, discover their strengths, and gain confidence!

Caitlyn will continue to teach Beginner and Advanced Technique as well as take on Intermediate Ballet this semester!🥳

Next up for our Instructor Spotlight is Alia Murillo!🥳

Alia has been teaching at Forthcoming since 2019. Her favorite styles to both choreograph and dance are Lyrical and Hip Hop! Alia was on the PJ Jacob’s dance team for two years, on the SPASH dance team for four years, and became a captain her senior year. Growing up Alia gained experience in dance, all star cheer, gymnastics/tumbling, and “Poms.” She coached the SPASH Dance Team for 3 years while she attended college at UWSP. In addition to teaching at Forthcoming, Alia coordinates our Competition Team as well as our social media!

Her favorite thing about Forthcoming is that the moment you join you truly become family. She remembers her first year teaching, when everyone took her in and made her feel comfortable and loved! She truly loves connecting with her students, and being a mentor for them both in and out of the studio.

Alia will continue to teach Advanced Hip Hop this year!🩵
