247 pages so far!

I’m fighting sleepiness, but also I don’t want to stop reading this until I finish. I am having trouble putting into words how much I love this book. It’s so beautifully written with love. Intergenerational stories are my jam, but this has just been another level. I feel so seen and comforted by this book and these characters. The audiobook and narrators are fantastic, but I also had to order a physical copy so I can reread and hold this story in my hands.

If you haven’t heard about the yet then check it out! It’s everywhere!

I’ve decided to participate in this decentralized fundraising week that you can find here on Instagram Tiktok and even YouTube! I’ve decided that the way I’d like to participate is by only reading books written by out trans or nonbinary authors next week. For every 50 pages I read next week I will donate $10 to the Transgender Law Center.

I invite you to join me in reading! If you can donate that’s great! If you can share that’s also great! However you want to join us great! I’m just a little non active social account here so this is already more than I’ve done in a hot minute. Got distracted from the distraction, now back to our original previously planned distraction of grad school memory lane.

My first elective class was an undergrad introduction to comics class, that until the end i didn’t realize how much it would change my practice. I was able to really get comfortable working digitally. I was able to start telling stories and I was introduced to the zine comic.
This final project for that class was a collaborative project where we decided to write about the strange life of a single pair of boots. @ Portland, Oregon
