استضاف المركز في يوم الجمعة الموافق ١٣ مارس 2026 كل من السيد ايرك كاستيليا ، رئيس منظمة برايتر مشگن پاك والسيد ستانلي غروت الإداري في بلدية شلبي تاون في مشيكان . تحدث السيد أيرك عن أهمية الانخراط في العمل السياسي على المستويين المحلي والوطني مؤكدا على أهمية تثقيف الناخبين والعمل ضمن منظمات المجتمع المدني الذي يعتبر من أسس الديموقراطية القوية ، تناول السيد ستانلي في حديثه عن الجوانب التقنية للمشاركة في العمل السياسي مسلطاً الضوء على أهمية بناء الشراكات القوية لخدمة المجتمع بشكل فعال

شارك في الأمسية كل من : منتدى القوش الثقافي، مؤسسة روشما آرتس، محلية مشيكان للحركة الديمقراطية الآشورية وعدد من الناشطين المدنيين.......Ishtar Cultural Center recently hosted an inspiring lecture titled “Serve Your Community Through Politics,” bringing together members of the Chaldean, Assyrian, and Syriac communities for an evening of civic engagement and dialogue.
The event began with a moment of silence honoring the men and women who sacrificed their lives for this country, as well as our martyrs who gave their lives in defense of our rights and freedoms. Our Featured Speakers Eric Castiglia, Chairman of Brighter Michigan PAC, spoke about the importance of getting involved in local and national politics, emphasizing voter education and civic participation as keys to a strong democracy. Stanley T. Grot, Shelby Township Clerk, discussed the technical side of political engagement and highlighted the importance of building strong partnerships to effectively serve the community.
The Ishtar Cultural Center continues its mission of uniting the community through culture, events, arts, and education, while encouraging active participation in public life. With sincere thanks to our partner organizations and community activists who joined us, including: Alqosh Cultural Forum, Rooshma Arts, Assyrian Democratic Movement Michigan Chapter, and many dedicated community activists. Together, we are shaping a stronger, more engaged future.

The lecture will highlight the Assyrian Genocide of 1915 (Seyfo).
