The ice is back! Howelsen Ice Arena officially reopens tomorrow, May 26, and we’re excited to welcome the community back to the rink. Most regular programming and activities are now available.

As construction work continues toward final completion, patrons should expect periodic loud noise during normal business hours. In addition, bumper cars may be temporarily unavailable through June while remaining project work is completed.

Thank you for your patience and support during these improvements. We look forward to seeing everyone back on the ice!

Ice-xciting news! Steamboat Springs City Council approved last evening a fundraising agreement with the Steamboat Springs Youth Hockey Association and the Steamboat Skating Club to support the expansion of Howelsen Ice Arena, marking a major step forward in delivering a long-anticipated second sheet of ice. https://tinyurl.com/ybhjpfxr

Even through we're closed, the work continues and we wanted to shine a little light on one project. Howelsen Ice Arena staff are completing a LED lightbulb upgrade during the annual maintenance shutdown. Can't wait for folks to see the difference.

Howelsen Ice Arena will close starting Sunday, April 19 for our annual maintenance period. We anticipate reopening on May 23, depending on project progress. Thank you for your patience.

Yampa Valley, it’s time to hop into the biggest egg hunt in town!

The FOR Steamboat Easter Eggstravaganza is cracking open at the Howelsen Ice Arena parking lot, and they're not yolking around—20,000 eggs, each one packed with prizes, surprises, and a whole lot of springtime cheer.

Little bunnies ages 2–4 get first crack at 10am, followed by ages 5–7 at 11am, and ages 8–11 closing things out at 12pm. Between hunts, stick around for bounce houses, food, and plenty of egg-cellent fun for the whole family.
