The event is a true collaboration between the Steamboat Symphony Orchestra, the Steamboat Springs Arts Council and the Emerald City Opera. The Steamboat Symphony Orchestra in collaboration with the Steamboat Springs Arts Council and the Emerald City Opera will be hosting a polo-themed Winter Soiree on March 16th at 6pm at the Larson Barn. Dinner by Bistro CV, music by the Steamboat String Quartet, and hosted by SSO's Music Director Ernest Richardson. There will be an auction, polo-themed games, and a champagne bar. Tickets are for purchase $150 or $200 for Player's Table at steamboatorchestra.org or 870-3223.

Fun final rehearsal for tonight's show. Ernest being wonderful Ernest. Olympians conducting and cracking up. Rick Devos from SSWSC making it after a long and spectacular night show. And everyone sitting in awe of how wonderful the orchestra sounds. Thanks to all of the musicians, Olympians, SSWSC, SSO Board and Staff, who are making this night happen.

The Steamboat Symphony Orchestra's Holiday Concert is the perfect way to kick-start your holiday cheer! Performing Franz Schubert's "Unfinished Symphony" and the Polar Express Suite with special guests the Steamboat Chamber Singers, as well as other holiday favorites.

December 1st at 7:00 pm or December 2nd at 5:00 pm in the Strings Music Pavilion.

Adult tickets are $35 in advance or $45 the day of show. Tickets for children under 12 are $1 and for youth 12 to 15 or students $10. Available at All That Jazz, the Steamboat Chamber Visitor's Center, the Art Depot, call 870-3223 or visit http://SteamboatOrchestra.org

Adults are invited to join the SSO for a Classical Conversation led by Artistic Director Ernest Richardson on Wednesday, November 28 at 5:00 pm at the Art Depot. Discussing the life and times of Franz Schubert and the composition of the "Unfinished Symphony". Tickets are free, but registration is required. Call 870-3223.

For a festive meal and an opportunity to mingle with key local musicians, join us for the Encounter Dinner Sunday, December 2 at 7:30 pm in the home of a local patron. Tickets are $100, available by calling 870-3223.

The Education Ensembles are starting their fall sessions. Offering Flute Choir, Cello Choir and String Ensemble, starting the week of September 10th. Registration deadline is this Friday, August 31st. Scholarships are available for students under 20 years of age; application deadline is Wednesday, September 5th. ALL ARTS FESTIVAL FINALE - August 16-18, 2012
This concert features John Williams most famous and iconic sound track, Star Wars, and Sibelius’ famous second symphony. The finale of the symphony will certainly bring people to their feet with tears in their eyes. Considered by most to be in the top twenty symphonies, it is a wonderful evolutionary stage for the orchestra and our audience.
