Creating art and crafting handmade products with my mom to inspire more joy 💕 Hello! Welcome to Soodle Creative Studio!

We are a mother-daughter duo working together to inspire more joy through our handcrafted creations and designs. Did you know the word Soodle means to walk slowly? The perfect word to stand for creations that inspire more joy and living in the moment. Susan didn't know nicknaming her daughter, Emma Sue, Soodle her whole childhood would eventually culminate into the title of her own business. Emma

Sue founded Soodle in October 2022 as a project for sharing her joyful crafting with others. In September of 2023, her mother, the origin of her love for crafting, Susan, joined the team. The two share a love of arts and crafting. They hope to add a little whimsy and joy to your day because they know it isn't always easy to find. Keep an eye on the website, the Etsy and Instagram for regular new products. Soodle offers embroidery, glassware, office ware, crochet work, home decor, and more.

*P.S. The makers at Soodle love animals and have homes full of them. Many of their products are made around animals and a complete riddance of animal hair is impossible. Thank you for understanding!*

I wanted a floor pouf... so I made one! 💪😊

Patched together corduroy scraps and filled with a mix of old pillows and poly-fill. Took my time and worked on it whenever I had a free moment, only took four days! 🗓️

I love how it turned out! Still working on my cross-stitch project and planning to start a small wall quilt next! 🪡

Whatever project you have hiding in a corner, no matter how old, this is your sign to pick it back up and believe in yourself! 💕💕

Rorie and I are enjoying a crafty Saturday 🐈‍⬛

I finally got some propagations into soil 🌱 which was long past due.

🪡 I've only shared this on my stories so far, but my brother brought me back a fun cross stitch kit from Norway of a little monkey. I feel like it's been over a year since he gifted it to me, but I finally learned how to do it!

I might enjoy cross stitch more than embroidery 👀. He gave my mom a kit too, so we found a beginner project we have since both completed 🎉 so we've moved on to our kits!

It's so satisfying seeing it come together and also watching Rorie lay in different ways as the time passes. 😄 I've found watching craft vlogs really motivates me. She's as 'lets just try it and see what happens' as I am which is super encouraging!

Let me know your current ! I have so many projects I need to share with you guys but I keep collecting more hobbies! Maybe taking the time to share my projects will get me to stay with some a little longer. 🤭

Hope everyone had a happy Halloween! 👻

I was inspired by my fruit illustrations to attempt an orange on my cheek for my costume! My husband and I dressed as a Blue Moon and a slice of orange. 🍻🍊 A last minute drug store kit of face crayons really did the trick!

I love seeing how creative people can be in their costumes and this year did not disappoint. Did you dress up?

I'm so happy November is here and has brought colorful foliage and crisp air with it! Makes me want to snuggle in and work on my linocuts!

Linoleum is a different world ✂️

Compared to soft speedy-carve, linoleum definitely has a learning curve with its stiff, slippery surface that requires warming to carve well.

I was able to get out this little kitty print this morning! Super happy with it for my first go. Inked it with a stamp pad on some scrap paper. Hoping to roll out the nice inks soon!

What do we think? I have a super detailed sketch I can't wait to do, but a bit more practice must come first!

Happy National Cat Day! 🐾🐾🐾

I'm being attacked by my silly, adorable cat as I type this. She's a constant reminder of the joy pets bring to our lives. She teaches me to rest, stand up for myself, and always make time for what you love (in her case, that's eat wet food and play with her jingle ball toy, but that's beside the point).

Picked up a book on linocut at the library this weekend. 📚 My practice is already beginning to evolve and change shape.

It's a fresh breath walking into a new creative practice without any expectations or direction. I allowed myself to ignore perfectionism and just begin.

Through this process, I have officially used all of my speedy-carve block! It's time to upgrade my tools and find some real lino to carve. What a wonderful adventure to begin...
