SATURDAY FEATURE: ALI EATS AMERICA

Walk the red carpet. Then settle in for a story you won’t forget.

Join us Saturday from 5–5:30 PM at Shearer Hall for a special red carpet experience before the screening of Ali Eats America.

The film begins at 5:30 PM, followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers.

Inspired by Anthony Bourdain’s Parts Unknown, Ali Eats America follows Ali Allouche, who spent his junior year of high school undergoing chemotherapy. After treatment, Ali and his mom set out to make a dream come true: traveling the country, meeting chefs, exploring culinary communities, and experiencing the places they had always imagined visiting.

From pit-masters to pizzerias, the Grand Canyon to New York City, this is a moving and often funny story about food, family, resilience, and making the most of life.

The Princess Bride is taking over downtown tonight for a FREE outdoor screening in partnership with the Statesville Recreation & Economic Vitality & Broad Street United Methodist Church - Statesville NC

Grab your friends, family, or your favorite person and make a night of it. Start with dinner at one of Downtown Statesville restaurants, then head to the lawn next to Broad Street Methodist for a movie under the stars.

Bring a lawn chair or blanket and get comfortable. We’ll bring the movie magic.
