Carolina Roots MusicFest is a 2-day celebration of Americana fused music held in Statesville, North Carolina the weekend of May 19-20, 2017. Festival guests will experience diverse indie expressions of national and regional artists invited to perform their progressive styles of Appalachia-influenced Folk, savory Rhythm & Blues, foot stompin Bluegrass and alternative Country & Rock on 2 open air st

ages! Carolina Roots MusicFest is held in an intimate grass field with ample general parking and camping areas just a short walk from the admission gate. Festival goers are welcome to bring lawn chairs, blankets and sunbrellas to relax and bask in our beautiful Carolina spring weather - a wonderful backdrop to enjoy all the nuances of Carolina Roots MusicFest. Large sunbrellas and 10x10 pop ups are permitted inside the venue to set up in a designated area. On Saturday, guests may complement their music experience with robust flavors of handcrafted beer, mead, hard cider and wine in the Hops Garden. The Destination Magazine sponsors this featured area and has selected six participating North Carolina breweries to offer an array of medal winning libations to enjoy. VIP Tasting tickets will be available to purchase in advance early March. Tasting tickets and single cups are available to purchase on Saturday, day of event. ​Another Wine & Beer Tent will also be open both days at Carolina Roots MusicFest. For outdoor enthusiasts, weekend Tent and RV campsites are offered on site, next to the festival venue. Campers are encouraged to bring outdoor games, instruments for campsite jam sessions in the glow of evening campfires! A variety of food trucks, an Artisan Village and outdoor activities are in the plans for guests to experience a laid back social environment with other like-minded music and outdoor lovers. A portion of proceeds raised through our Carolina Roots MusicFest and Carolina BalloonFest is distributed to local nonprofit organizations. Our mission is to continue the heritage of hot air ballooning in Iredell County, spotlight the community of Statesville and donate a portion of proceeds from both festivals to local nonprofit organizations. National Balloon Rally Charities (NBRC) announces that the Carolina Roots Music Festival will be suspended until further notice. This does not affect the Carolina BalloonFest; the Carolina BalloonFest will be held October 19, 20, and 21 of 2018, at the Statesville Regional Airport.

With NBRC’s oldest festival, The Carolina BalloonFest, reaching its 45th year, the organization sees it as only appropriate that the festival have its own home and property. Due to this realization, the Carolina Roots Music Festival will be put on hold so that we can continue our search for property. Thank you for your understanding in this matter and for the dedication of all Carolina Roots Music Festival fans. We appreciate your patronage and hope to find new property so that we may host many bigger and better festivals in the future.
