Is February too far away? Well we have you covered. We are hosting 2 more shows this year plus we will back next year just in Statesville just in a different location which we will announce as soon as everything is ironed out. But in the meantime we have WNC Foothills Comic Con June 14th and Greenville NC August 9th.

First off yesterday was amazing. Wonderful turnout and as always some of the nicest people anywhere. We shared many laughs and a few tears . We always feel like it's a big family reunion. We have watched many of the kids grow up through the years. Second we would like to address the false information being put out pretty much calling us liars. I cannot believe anyone would say there has been no price increase. REGARDLESS of the reason our rental rate has always been low so that we could bring this show to Statesville. The amount of work that goes into putting on a show is tremendous. Not to mention hidden expenses like hotel rentals for guest, advertising, Flyers, free tables for the library, girl scouts and kid artist, prizes, costume contest money , the thousands of free comic books we've handed out over the years and so on. I only say this to explain why the city gave us such a good deal.
So the black and white of everything is our contract has been $1740 .
Somehow without a price increase our rental next year would be $7600.
I don't even make that off the show so I have no idea how I could pay that. I make very little off the show at the previous rental rate but I do it for the community and especially for the kids. In addition a civic center is supposed to be for the community, to bring things and do things for the community . A convention center is for profit. According to the grapevine they are tired of us smaller shows booking a year in advance making it harder for bigger shows to book .

It is with deep regret that we confirm the rumors are true.. This is the end of an era . We started the Statesville Comic Con show eight years ago and it has been an amazing show from day one. But tomorrow is our last Statesville Comic Con. If you want to go this will be your last chance. This has nothing to do with hickory con. I have no problem putting this show up against theirs. This is 100% a financial decision. Statesville park and rec has taken over the handling of the civic center and have changed their prices. With a price increase of more than 4x times our current rental rate we can no longer afford to do this show. We will miss each and everyone of you!! If you know of another place please let us know.

Hey guys :) we will be in Statesville tomorrow (Thursday) handing our flyers. If you're business would like one of the flyers or some of the smaller counter top ones please let us know and we will swing by to drop them off. Also at the show we will be having a raffle to benefit the victims of Hurricane Helene in WNC. Too many are still without heat and many are still in tents.
