Sugar skulls are an important symbol for Día de los Mu***os (or Day of the Dead). The celebration to honor and remember loved ones who have passed begins in November 1 and ends November 2. All the beautiful colors used to decorate have different meanings.
Orange - the sun (this is also the color of the traditional Marigold flower used to decorate doorways and paths leading to the altar honoring deceased ancestors)
Yellow - light
White - purity, hope, & renewal
Purple - grief
Pink - joy & celebration
Red - blood of life
Blue - water
Black - death

We have some events happening causing our hours to change today through Wednesday. With private and off site events, we have to close because of staffing. The best part of having a Nurse Practitioner sister is she takes care of me and gets me feeling human again whenever I'm sick (thanks ❤), which means I can finally breathe and we're ready for another attempt at our Virtual Holiday Open House tomorrow at 7pm!

Jill worked for me when I had the pottery studio and her job title was very appropriately my Paint Bitch, because no matter what I asked her to create, she always blew my mind away with how incredible it was. She took over and is of course killing it at Southern Pottery!
