The gallery is streaming Mold Garden and Tide Flowers by Pennsylvania-based environmental artist Stacy Levy between 6pm and 1am every night.

In Tide Flowers (2006) the changing tide on the Hudson River is made visible with bright, buoyant vinyl flower petals hinged to the pier’s piling. Connecting urban life to the daily schedule of nature, the flowers bloom at high tide and close at low tide. Mold Garden (2000) shows enlarged images of common molds (bread and fruit mold) sandblasted onto glass. The carved-out areas serve as miniature petri dishes that are filled with growth medium and inoculated with mold spores.

Woskob is excited to announce that Megan Gottfried’s fabric installation titled Room to Room is now on display!

“Room to Room” is a dynamic environment made of reclaimed fabric. Fiber is both personal and profound, being one of the first textures we touch when we are born, clothing us daily, and surrounding us as we fall asleep. Retrieving used fabric, Gottfried stitches together strangers’ stories into an intimate installation.

Visit the Woskob Gallery on November 5, Friday, for First Friday | 5 - 8 p.m.

Performance by exhibiting artist Alex Russell between 6 and 8 p.m.

how we are doing is a cathartic performance for everyone who feels wonderful and terrible, sharp and soft, reflective and distracted, grounded and falling apart. During the pandemic, the question "How are you doing" is frequently asked, but oftentimes the answer is not so simple. Russell will be performing quotes from anonymous responses to this question, as well as grounding and releasing rituals.

Dana Lynn Harper titled Field Guides.

"Harper is a multimedia sculptural artist living and working in Columbus, OH. She uses overpowering color, inviting textures to build a multi-sensory experience. Her work explores moments of self-transcendence, where time is slowed down and the outside world is forgotten, a place where the imagination is ignited."

Visit us this Friday, 10/1 #FirstFriday for the opening reception for Field Guides by Dana Lynn Harper.

Field Guides is playful and boisterous exhibition exploring the artist’s belief of spirit guides. Spirit guides are believed to be supernatural beings that provide support, guidance, and love when we need it most. This abstract idea is translated into layers of texture, pattern, and color. Utilizing textiles, paper, and plastics; aspects of personality, aura, consciousness, and spirit are made visible. Each being borrows the form of celebratory objects, like piñatas, paper lanterns and pom poms. These playful forms are combined with ornamentation inspired by the growth of plants and flowers.

5-8PM, Friday, October 1, 2021.

Visit the @woskobfamilygallery this Friday, October 1 from 5-8 pm to view Field Guides.
