Where the moonlight softly glows,
A cat of colors bold and bright,
Carries ancient tales it knows.

In the quiet dawn, it spreads its wings,
A fluttering spirit that gently sings.
With colors bold, and patterns bright,
It dances in the soft morning light.

Carrying wisdom from the skies,

Hummingbird Carries Dawn

Little spirit woven of flame and air,
You drink from blossoms as though offering prayer.
Your wings beat songs too sacred to see,
Yet all creation moves with their mystery.

The old ones say you carry the sun,
A spark of joy where healing is begun.
You visit hearts grown weary with pain,
And leave them blooming alive again.

Small one, keeper of sweetness and light,
You teach that gentleness is also might.
No thunder follows where your spirit flies—
Only wonder opening sleeping eyes.

You sip from flowers, but gather more:
Dreams forgotten at the spirit’s door.
Messenger dancing between earth and sky,
Teaching the soul it was born to fly.

The Horse Remembers Thunder

Before the road was marked by men,
The horse knew where the wild had been.
Its hooves wrote prayers across the plains,
In dust, in wind, in summer rains.

The old ones called him brother, guide,
A spirit no horizon could hide.
He carried warriors, dreams, and flame,
And knew each rider’s secret name.

Within his breath the dawn would stir,
Earth answered when it moved with him.
His mane held whispers of eagle flight,
His eyes kept watch through moonlit night.

Horse teaches freedom is not to flee,
But to run in truth with dignity.
Strength is gentle when joined with soul,
And broken spirits can still be whole.

O keeper of thunder, sacred friend,

Where river bends remember rain,
The Otter moves through joy and pain.
Not with burden, not with pride—
But laughing softly with the tide.

Raven Beneath the Moonfire

Black-winged keeper of the cedar night,
You rise where old spirits braid with light.
Through moonfire trees your shadow sings,
A prayer is born beneath your wings.

Raven, watcher of forgotten flame,
The ancients spoke your sacred name.
You carry stories carved in bone,
And teach the lost they walk not alone.

In your eye, the red dawn waits,
Beyond the silence of mortal gates.
You know where hidden rivers start,
And where the brave must place their heart.

Messenger crossing earth and sky,
You ask no reason why we die.

Where sunset burns on cedar seas,
The dolphin rises with ancient ease.
Not merely flesh of wave and foam,
But a guardian guiding lost hearts home.

It leaps through waters where ancestors dream,
Following moonlight on the salmon stream.
Its breath is prayer, its motion grace,
A living spirit no storm can erase.

The old ones say the dolphin knows

Where sea chants rise against the stone,
The Bear walks where old spirits have known.
His paws remember the earth’s first drum,
Calling the songs of ancestors home.

Upon his back the salmon gleam,
Guardians swimming through the dream.
They speak of hunger, gift, and grace—
Of life returned through time’s embrace.

Bear is strength, but not of war,
He guards the wounded at the spirit’s door.
His silence teaches hearts to hear
The wisdom hidden beneath all fear.

When storm-waves rise and nations bend,
Bear stands where broken pathways mend.
His breath is cedar, tide, and flame,
And every creature knows his name.

O Keeper of the Salmon Tide,

Horse of the Sacred Circle

Beneath the sun of an ancient sky,
a painted horse lifts its spirit high.
Its mane moves softly with the mountain air,
carrying prayers no voice can share.

Within its eyes, the old trails remain,
through cedar forests, dust, and rain.
Feathers guard its path with silent grace,
while eagle wings watch over this sacred place.

Its body holds the colors of the land—
red for courage, gold for sand,
green for life where deep roots grow,
black for the night where wise hearts know.

It does not run to conquer the earth,
but to remember each spirit’s worth.
A horse of honor, calm and free,
born from the circle of memory.

Turtle of the First Earth

Upon its back, the old world sings,
of rivers, mountains, moons, and wings.
A turtle walks in silence deep,
where sacred waters breathe and sleep.

Its shell is more than shield or skin—
it holds the sky and life within.
The sun burns gold, the moon shines mild,
each creature rests there like a child.

The eagle guards the open air,
the bear moves strong with patient care.
The orca turns through ancient tide,
while forest spirits walk beside.

The turtle bears them, calm and wise,
with time reflected in its eyes.
It does not hurry, boast, or roam—
for every step becomes a home.

In Native memory, old and grand,
it carries earth like steady hands.
A living prayer, serene and true,
where all things old are made anew.

So when the world feels wild and far,
look to the turtle’s quiet star.
For on its back, through storm and flame,
the heart of life remains the same.
